It was awesome.

When I first looked at the control scheme I paniced :P
But after a few minutes I learned it quickly, and I began with hard at start, and I read that the AI was smart and all, but man those bullets really take alot of damage.

I died a few times sure, but not doing anything stupid like most videos you see :P

Animations are pure amazing, fluid, controllable...etc. very great.

I have to get this game, but because it is coming out in December in EU I have a good time to raise some money.

But Naughty Dog did a great job indeed, from the game to even updating the demo from not being region locked.

If a next gen jak and daxter looked half as good as that, id get a PS3 just for it :) Looks awesome =)

this game is a must buy for any ps3 owner, after all there isn't that much choice at the moment, in terms of ps3 exclusives.

Update: I've just read that the demo has been fixed and now works on all systems. You know what you have to do if you have a PS3!

my game of the year, absolut brilliant.

After playing Crysis it's very hard to take any other game seriously when it comes to vegitation/jungle graphics.. This game also doesn't even come close..

CoD4 comes pretty close I think (Overgrown etc), but still not on par (which is fine, otherwise hardly anyone could run the game with good fps like Crysis)..

suprising the shooting battles look intense. you don't don't run into enemies else you are dead and neither stay in one place cause they will come after you

the platform elements look natural. ot something that is forced upon you

Played this the other day. Just AWESOME. I had no plans of getting this game--it was a rental at best--but now I'm considering buying it. Easily the best graphics of any game to date, a believable main character with believable dialogue, and a well done mix of platforming and shooting. Just a year into the PS3's life and we're already getting stuff this impressive (which according to the dev only uses 30% of its power). Can't wait to see what the future holds in stock :)

Haven't played the demo or anything but the visuals are great. The downside? The shooting looks really boring and i assume that's a rather big part of the game. If i had a PS3 i would be sure to get this, because there isn't much else to play on the PS3 right now (eye of judgment is probably the one title that seems interesting atm for me). But still, i'm cautiously optimistic about this, even though i don't own a PS3 any more :)

@adriman360: You're sooo right. I know, most PS3 owners just REALLY need a must-buy for their console, but that game is average. The visuals and animations are great, no argue about that. But the gameplay is the same "look for a place to hide, then shoot everyone down" gameplay we've seen so many times before. Looking at the demo, there doesn't seem to be any new mechanic or idea to it. It's a game I would rent or buy for 20 bucks, but no killer-app.

Great visuals, not great game.

You cant compare this one to Bioshock, Metroid Prime 3, Halo3, COD 4, Assasins Creed, Mass Effect or Mario Galaxy. Even Rachet has more overal potential.

I'm 35 years old and i've been playing for 20 years, and i have all next gen consoles. belive me when i tell yuo guys that this game is going to be forgotten pretty soon in one of the best years in videogame history. Right now just being "great" doesn't cut it. Any game that's not "goty" material this holyday season isn't going to sell any consoles. So by today standards "great" equals"average"

Sorry dude, but it's the way it is. Just look at the sales numbers in December and you'll see i was right.

Brilliant demo. Takes all that was good about Gears of War - the cover system - and removes the stuff that wasn't so good - the awful running camera - then adds some ideas of its own like the fist combat and platforming sections and dresses it all up in some fantastically lush-looking colourful visuals complemented by terrific animation. It seems like a great game, far better than I was expecting it to be. If it wasn't for the v-sync tearing which occurs from time to time, it would be perfect as visually it's possibly the best-looking game on the consoles right now, even better than Gears IMO.

It's now gone from a game I was thinking about buying to one I've just pre-ordered!

I really don't think this game looks better than GoW. It looks impressive, but not extraordinary. The art style is a little too... hm... technic. Doesn't really look like nature. But that's the style and as I said it looks quite good.

The game will surely sell, but that's simply because PS3 owners want to play something. DJmizuhara, how can you tell the game will be great while you haven't played the whole game yet?

adriman stop trying to convince people that this game is bad. If you don't like Uncharted thats fine just say so, but don't bash it and saying stuff like you are trying to convince them.

Just because you are 35 it doesnt mean anything. You may seem old, but your mind is still different than what your age can show.

I thought Uncharted was awesome, the shooting is very fun, looks simple and easy to get into and the intensity of moving around and all is very good, makes you be on move cover to cover all the time.

It is a GOTY contender, but for the PS3 section I say yes, it seems that Uncharted is the best one to come out.

But GOTY as in general, I doubt it.

If you are saying Ps3 is so bad without games, why even purchase it :S

You find me a game with amazing animations that runs so fluidly, the graphics also be top notch, and add very small details such as face expression in game, from moving fingers each move...etc.

I can only think of Assassins Creed seriously.
Uncharted and Assassins Creed are the only games I can think of were they use animation and small details with the environment and keeping up with good graphics, for me thats next gen.Absolutely...wrong!
Crysis is the best looking game out there, no question about it.
But it sure as hell looks great though.That is just right :)

Nathan and Elena is so damn believeable. It feels like its real actors and all, very great. I could easily watch a long movie with this type of graphics and all, thats how good I thought it was, not to mention Mass Effect is the same :D

The looks and plays great, love the demo but no where close to GOTY. To many other better games out this year.

So would you say the demo is not representative? Because what I've seen until now looked kind of boring.

Just finished watching the video and I am honestly quite disappointed. Mind blowing graphics, excellent animation and such but my god gameply looked boring. if this their entire game receipe i.e. jump grab get up and then a long session of shooting then I think I'll pass.

Adriman i'm your same age and play games since i can remember, but this doesnt make my opinion better then others.
This game is great for those who like this genre. (like me)

lesson number never judge a game by looking at it, same things was said about gears of war hide shoot, hide shoot, hide shoot etc. and that game turned out to be great.

this game has far more than gears of it terms of movement during shooting which adds another layer to gameplay
