Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One Wii U Xbox 360 PS3

Ubisoft has been silent about Watch_Dogs since E3, and finally released some new media of the game with this trailer showing Aisha Tyler's character in-game. A Ubisoft employee said no his twitter that this video wasn't a good representation of the game, be it current or next-gen. Let's hope so...

Looks more current gen, everything looks a lot flatter. Unless they are seriously toning everything down for some random reason. Kinda prefering The Division over this at the moment. The more I see this game the less impressed I am.

from that twitter post it sounds like its a pc build but somebody decided to go into options and untick the flashy graphics.

Either way, regardless of graphics (and poor animation - I don't know if that will differ between versions), that was simply a terrible boring video to release to promote their game.

They need to stop showing her off to promote the game since it doesnt make the game look any better.

Amateurish to say the least. Doesn't bode well at all. Wouldn't surprise me if the game turns out to be a massive steaming turd bolstered by some dodgy review scores.

Wow at the negativity. We've seen plenty of footage for the game. we know at least the next gen versions dont look like that. Game is gonna great... cynical bunch, maybe it's time for a new hobby?

or maybe they shouldnt release clearly awful trailers when the stuff theyve shown in the past looks so amazing

Hmm... well, the first shot doesn't look amazing, like the previously released video. The later shots look like either good current gen or "next gen - actual release assets, not tarted-up demo assets for E3".

Hard to tell.

People should stop focusing on graphics so much and focus on the core gameplay experience. From what I saw of WatchDogs, it could like like The Sims and I'd still get it.

I don't agree with you. Ever since the first footage, the following footage or trailers began to look less good. For me it's completely unclear what the game looks like today on any platform.
This. It looks worse and worse with each showing, it wouldn't surprise me if this was their current next gen build tbh. Even if it does look utterly awful.

I think this is just the PC build set to lower quality settings. The fact that the vid is 1080p60 proves that it's not a console version. And Jonathan Morin's Twitter comments further corroborate that theory. For those who haven't seen what he said:
“You know sometimes 100s of people working together causes communications issues lets just say that ;) .”

“Its simply someone who don’t know the tech who check the wrong stuff.”

To Translate: Whomever was over making that trailer isn't closely tied to development of the game and purely didn't know to go in and make the game look prettier. Probably left the game at whatever the default settings are, which tend to be low even if it was being run on a high end machine.

It could be alot of things, maybe its to reduce less screen tearing? Who really knows but I haven't been much interested in this game from the start, so far we know almost nothing about the narrative except he's out for vengeance. The use of technology to manipulate the world doesnt interest me as well, it feels gimmicky.

Just fooling around.

Its PC on low detail settings. When they started showing the gamplay it was the PC version, than they showed the PS4 version on E3 and at some tv show. In both cases it looked really nice. No need to panic.

Agreed. People need to calm down. Ubi made a mistake by letting this trailer be released but it's not indicative of the game looking horrible or anything. They just weren't aware of how to set the game's settings. And, honestly, they appear to not know how to make a trailer as, contextually, the trailer does nothing to drive interest in the game.

For me it's completely unclear what the game looks like today on any platform. We know that the first e3 trailer ran on a very highend pc. This ccurrent trailer looks nothing like it anymore. The tweet is also very strange: why release a trailer and then say that it does not represent the game, without further explanation.
Ubisoft should be clear on what the current gen, the next gen and the pc version look like. Because I'm losing interest with every new footage. That is not whining or being negagive like you say, but simply questioning what is going on with Watch Dogs so we know what platform to buy it for.
Now you are being silly. Do you really think, seeing footage of other games for these systems, that that level of crap is even a remote possibility? Believing the game would look like that at all, especially given already shown gameplay is taking it to the extreme. Yeah, evil companies are evil and just want to lie to us until it comes out. Because that could never backfire :P

Personally I don't see how it looks less interesting. The more I see(barring this vid of course) the more interested I am. I don't get the negativity other than massively unreasonable expectations...

Companies lie about their game's visuals all the time. It makes no sense that as big as Ubisoft is that they released a bad trailer "accidentally". I really don't buy it.

That said I don't think the game looks this awful on the next-gen consoles, but something don't add up.

Not sayin they don't, but in this case people are all too eager to accept that this was possible as some down grade for the game. Common sense should kick in a bit...
