Ubisoft sent us this video of Watch_Dogs, showing the game in action and narrated like Rockstar usually does. More videos to come in the next few weeks!
This actually got me a bit more excited for it, but not by a ton, but better then the previous load of promotional vids. And finally there is headlights reflecting on the road. Makes the cars look far more grounded. We're still seeing a lot of the same stuff though, I hope there is a good story behind all these ambient events.
I like how all the button prompts were either masked or removed entirely so as to not reveal which platform this was running on. I'd put my money on it being the PS4 build. The PC version has my name on it though, even though this looked ok.

The post-processed stuff ( probably from cutscenes) looked ok. Some of it looked just bad (where are the leaves blowing in the wind?), other stuff looked current gen. But nothing looked like the first demo they showed. The framerate is all over the place. But is this all the gamplay they have got? Hacking and chasing? There must be something more, no?
That's the problem, they're not really showing anything substantial. We know we have car chases, hacking, surveillance, stealth, shooting (seems minimal, all we've seen is a pistol) and close quarter combat (baton) but we haven't really seen any in the context of an actual mission. This is either a good thing, where the story missions are amazing and they simply want to keep it a secret (rockstar get away with doing the same) so we can experience it for ourselves, or the game is actually shite and the best they've got to show is this ambient side activity crap? Maybe a combination of the two? Or maybe they genuinely think their ambient stuff sets this game apart? In which case their wrong and someone needs to tell them so. I just want to see a mission, even if it's the first one, cutscenes and all.

I believe alot of the new footage in this, that wasn't straight from earlier footage, WAS current gen. The lack of ambient effects and dense crowds suggests so. Plus the 720p resolution the video was released by Ubisoft screams this too like with the AC4 Open world video they released.

Why would they release new footage shown on inferior current gen consoles when it is a game being primarily developed for next gen consoles? Is it so hard to believe that they would allow this on current gen? You all keep forgetting that, until recently, games were still being developed for directx 9 consoles and now we are all the way up to directx 11. this is a launch title, and one of the first PS4 games to be open world (difficult to develop for all on its own); this is not a complete representation of what the system is capable of.
This looks like a lackluster attempt to copy GTAV/RDR narrative trailers style. But instead of a slower and more stable view with features explaination we get a mash up of old/new/current/next-gen footage with no clear idea behind it.
I dont see anything special with this game at all other than constant hacking and spying, rinse and repeat with maybe some actual shootouts and chases, looks very boring...the hacking part.

I think the shaders have come along way in the forthcoming generation of games: the leather on that jacket is very good, as are the textures; much better.
The more I see of this the more I am worried, the E3 demo looked stunning and yes it was running on a ps4 dev kit unlike the xbox one demos which were all running on pcs that had a higher spec

The getaways look like they'll play out like split second... where you get button prompts as you pass certain sections, that could be pretty cool.
The rest looks interesting enough to play it at least once.
Weird pyramid symbols and orwellian surveillance social inducing stuff though.
We'll see what is the history, maybe we don't expect, but could be an interesting one.
