While the Star Wars franchise has been struggling at the box office for some time now, the video game side of things has been doing quite well since the 2026 school year began. Star Wars Zero Company was very well received by the press and gamers a few weeks ago, and the release of STAR WARS: Galactic Racer next week is set to build on this momentum. We’ll, of course, explain why in a condensed verdict inside, but since pictures are always worth a thousand words, we’re also sharing two in-depth videos: one showcasing the game’s content and our thoughts on it (in French), while the second aims to fully immerse you in George Lucas’s universe with our personal selection of gameplay clips.
Verdict
Despite the few minor drawbacks we’ve mentioned (the fact that there is only a total of 7 planets and fewer tracks we expected mainly), STAR WARS: Galactic Racer marks the thunderous return of George Lucas’s franchise to the very exclusive circle of futuristic racing games. The controls aren’t quite as demaning as in Wipeout, but the game is definitely a blast to play, and there’s plenty of room for players to improve—they clearly won’t be able to get the most out of the different vehicles without spending some time on all the available tracks. WIth an atmosphere very faithful to that of the feature films, longtime fans will be delighted, and since the handling and the sensation of speed are just as exhilarating as watching the legendary podracer scene in Episode I back in 1999, they should get their money’s worth. Finally, while its potential remains to be seen after the game’s official release, the multiplayer aspect should also provide plenty of fun for those who are tempted by this new adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
