Hollywood Whodunnit Murder By Numbers Coming to PC & Switch in 2020
From the mischievous minds behind Hatoful Boyfriend, Swords of Ditto & Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

LONDON, October 9th, 2019 - Multi-talented, multi-limbed multifarious developer Mediatonic & irresistibly irreverent publisher The Irregular Corporation today announce that Murder By Numbers - quite possibly the only 90s-themed Hollywood detective game you’ll ever need - is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) in 2020.

Devised by game director Ed Fear (The Swords of Ditto, Heavenstrike Rivals), Murder By Numbers is a retro-inspired visual novel, injected with a colourful cast designed by the incomparable imagination of Hato Moa (Hatoful Boyfriend) and music by the legendary Masakazu Sugimori (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Viewtiful Joe, Ghost Trick).

Los Angeles, 1996. Honor Mizrahi was just an actress on a hit TV detective show. But when her boss ends up dead just minutes after he fires her, she finds herself starring in her own murder mystery. Teaming up with SCOUT, a reconnaissance robot thrown away after a mysterious incident, she sets out to clear her name - and a new detective duo is born.

Investigate a range of cases and unearth clues with SCOUT’s sensors, cracking hidden nonograms and piecing together proof one pixel at a time. Use that evidence to interrogate weird and wonderful characters across TV studios, glitzy award shows, drag clubs, and more as you seek to uncover an overarching story of conspiracy, deception and - of course - MURDER!

For postulant private-eyes with a passion for pedal pushers who can’t wait to learn more about the mysteries of Murder By Numbers, the development team will be revealing more during an exclusive panel at EGX 2019 on Saturday, 19th October at 15:30pm. What's up?
  • KORNdog

KORNdog I would honestly be surprised if both the next Xbox and ps5 don't just look like simple black plastic boxes. (5 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog I can't imagine Sony coming along 10 years too late and adopting that styling when it's clearly not what is considered good design anymore. (5 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog I just look at Sony's consumer design and it doesn't fit at all. Electronics are about clean lines and boxy shapes. Even in the PC space that fuck ugly vent covered alien ware design has fizzled out. (5 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog @MrWhite: for the same reason they stuck a big metal.faceplate to the PS4 dev kit? I mean. They could have just made that a plastic box too. (5 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite It looks like a big dirty wifi router of some sort. Which makes sense if you think about where gaming is going. Especially if they want to make the PSVR2 wireless. (5 Hours ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite Yeah, but as I say, why not just make it a big ugly box, then? Why's it that shape? could be wrong, like. But if its close to the actual thing, I wouldnt be shocked. (5 Hours ago)

  • KORNdog

KORNdog I hope it looks fuck all like it. And thankfully I'm pretty certain it won't look anything like that. Sony don't make consumer stuff that look like that. (5 Hours ago)
