Batman AK & EGttR with a GTX 1080

Our second batch of videos captured with our newly acquired GTX 1080 will focus on two games which had performance issues at launch. No need to dtail the Batman: Arkham Knight fiasco once again, since the game didn't even run perfectly smoothly after its second release, especially for those who owned an SLI (the game didn't support it...). The case of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is clearly different, as The Chinese Room cannot be compared with Warner Brothers and Rocksteady in terms of budget and manpower. That being said, it was still surprising to see how poorly it performed on high end systems, forcing players to tone down some more demanding settings. Even last week the latest SLI profile from Nvidia didn't allow to max out all settings and maintain 60 fps. As you can see, things have changed for both games thanks to the new GTX.

Everybody's Gone ot the Rapture (PC)

After a summer release on PS4, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is back on PC and will be available to all tomorrow. The guys at The Chinese Room were kind enough to send us a review code to get you some nice videos before the game ships, so here they are with an updated version of our review. We have had a few performance issues as you'll see and read, but the overall experience remains good provided you don't absolutely want to max out the game. More details inside.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture

Following Dear Esther and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, the sequel to Frictional Games original horror experience, The Chinese Room's third game, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, is finally upon us – this time on PlayStation 4. For those familiar with its previous work, the pace and design of the game will come as no surprise but, for others, we invite you to take a look inside this curious, contemplative game.
Note: As usual, the review is spoiler-free guaranteed as we never mention anything about the main plot.
Update: Two FPS analysis videos added to understand why the game doesn't always feel smooth.

  • alimokrane
alimokrane @KORNdog: Trinity is still there sadly.. I actually want them to ditch supporting characters all together... Lara needs to be alone. That's what makes Lara who she is! (3 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth there's no way around the street-fighter-syndrome with ensemble movies, and some characters and parts felt just put in to keep the characters relevant/warm (hello Black P) Other than that it was great (1 Hour ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth his journey, while the other are mostly just popping in. Really great character and story-arc. For once a bad-guy with a good motive. (1 Hour ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth watched Avengers 3 yesterday. Was better than expected as i'm not a big fan of royal rumble mashups. What held it all together was the story of Thanos. In many ways this is his movie as we follow (1 Hour ago)

KORNdog that should at least push you forward and help you look past lara croft herself being lame. (3 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i just want a better game than rise ended up being. hire some decent writers. ditch the trinity tedium. introduce some characters that are interesting. (3 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @alimokrane: i get the impression we'll just get an extended Cgi trailer and gameplay won't be seen until E3. hope i'm wrong though. (3 Hours ago)
