The first 10 minutes: Dead or Alive Xtreme 2

Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball was one of my favorite games on the Xbox. It wasn't a deep game at all, but it was, first and foremost, a great way to kill some time when coming home from work. Getting a sequel on the 360 was great news for me so I preordered the game as soon as possible. But now after a few hours of playing the game I'm quite disappointed. Between the graphics far from being as impressive as I'd expect from Team Ninja (and at 30 fps!), the fact that the game has now become a bit too complex to just play and enjoy it for a few minutes of fun and an overall lack of polish, I can't help but think that DOAX2 was just a quick cash-in Team Ninja rushed out of the door to be in time for Christmas. I can't say it's an awfully bad game, but it's basically just the sum of average to OK small games, linked with numerous and very annoying loading screens.

DOAX2 Japanese TVCM

Release date of DOAX2 is getting closer, so no wonder Tecmo started advertising the game already on japanese TV's, and well here's the latest commercial. Pre-rendered footage only though.

MGS06: Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 gameplay

I've managed to get a few minutes to go to the Micromania Games Show in Paris last friday, and with the noise, the heat and especially the crowd it was almost impossible to film anything. Still, I've managed to record a bit of gameplay of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. Not that it's really interesting, but that's all I have... We'll go back there on tuesday and hopefully this time we'll be able to work in better conditions.

DOAX2: Marketplace trailer

This week-end has been so far quite strange for Xbox Live. First Mortal Kombat 3 appeared on the marketplace, then it was pulled down, then it was back again. Afterwards the Tony Hawk Project 8 demo appeared discretly on a seldom visited page of the marketplace (video soon), and then we got this gigantic video of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 showing lots and lots of "gravure" scenes like only Team Ninja could do. Without the "tentacle hairs" this game would look incredible, with them it's still very nice looking, but they are distracting.
Update: 720p version online.

TGS06: Dead Or Alive Xtrem 2 Gameplay

After yesterday's video, here is our second DOAX2 feature, this time showcasing "real" gameplay. And when I say gameplay, I mean some jet-ski, a bit of butt fighting, a quick race in the sand and, believe me or not, a beach-volley match. Oh, and I almost forgot about this close-up on Hitomi's butt. Silly me.

TGS06: DOAX2 Gameplay(?)

Snoopers went back to Microsoft's booth to get some new footage of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. As you can see it's not the gameplay he focused on!
More seriously, we'll have some true gameplay footage soon, we just have to work more on the montage and color correction than expected.
