Aint that the truth..well, that and the fact that I can't use Xbox one controllers--which means that I can't use any of my arcade sticks, except the DOA4 stick..which is fine, nice little Hori it's not bad. Oh, and not all 360 pads have bad d-pads, seems like a random production problem, only one of my three pads has a shit d-pad..the REAL problem is the button layout :P

To be honest the 360 should have had a D-Pad like the PS1/2. Those were prime for 2D fighting games.

I prefer the 360's setup know why? Sure that older setup could be useful for 2D fighting games, but they have to look beyond just a 2D fighting game. Anyone that has played oblivion for example you guys see how you bind things to a hotkey so you can choose up to 8 things well that could be done on the ps2 d pad too I'm guessing by pressing lets say the up and left directional buttons simultaneously, but would it be as easy? Well most gamers wont have trouble doing both.

The 360 d pad DOES take some getting use, but its cool I like it.

It's not that OP the 360 D-pad is a circle the PS2 D-pad is a cross.

The cross allows for more accurate direction, up, down, left, right which is more important for 2D fighters.

Have you never noticed when using the d-pad in menu's how it will jump to the right or left when navigating up and down.

There are 3rd party 360 pads which have the cross shape d-pad, but like griftgfx says if your into 2D fighter's that much i suppose you would get an arcade stick.

I don't wana splash out on a new controller just for one game, so i guess i will have to put up with it.

Haha yea people looking for the scapegoat the digital pad :P

I wish it was marvel vs capcom 2 though so I could annilihate people with the monster combos I'd have at my disposal.
