The music and sound in general is just awesome.

I think sam fisher has the same exact run animation as kaim from lost odyssey when he's exploring... good god man is there anything a dev can do about changing animations in ue3?

It seems to not be a big deal on context sensitive situations or turn based combat situations in lost odyssey, but what about during situations where you are exploring? SK has a lot of challenges before them because they need to build a completely new animation engine for ue3. It has impressed me graphically, but has yet to truly do so animation wise.

is this game even using ue3? i read in these forums once that it was using super duper upgraded ue2 (now trust me i didn't believe this at first but nobody corrected the person on it)

Maybe its using ue 2.5, but the animations just seem to be the same.

Come to think of it... if it was ue3 no way could they release this game before Gears of War so I'm using it really is ue 2.5. Devs need to release games after epic drops theirs on their own engine simply because devs don't usually get updated development tools for awhile. So I guess even if they show Too Human at X06 it may still be suffering as a result, but I better see some serious camera, hit detection and animation fixes in Too Human. I also want to see someone from SK playing that actually knows what they're doing. They said before that they are in crunch mode well I want to see the results of this crunch mode they are in.

Yea it's UE2.5--not the only impressive use of UE2.5 this gen either, engine still has some life left in it

aaahhh . . ... Bioshock - that 15 minute Video from E3 is absolutely amazing. You can cut the atmosphere with a knife :)

Well you have to keep in mind that they're constantly tweaking the engine and upgrading it as the years go by--Splinter Cell and Bioshock probably don't use a "vanilla" version of the engine--and from what I understand there are components of the Bioshock engine that were replaced all together. Lighting is a good thing to look to--I don't believe that the initial releases of UE2.5 had standard support for HDRI--but obviously both of these games are using HDR.

Five years from now there will probably be UE3 games that blow Gears of War away.

Ugh. This and FEAR. More games that I want. It's not fair. I'll never be able to get the HD-DVD addon let alone the Wii .
