Indeed. I have to say, those games are all stunning - timelessly stunning. So great art direction and so sharp, I think they'll stand the test of time like Super Mario World or even Super Metroid has.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (NDS, Square Enix): 9 / 8 / 9 / 9 - (35/40)

I know famitsu score duty belongs to Alimo, but I thought I'd just stick that in here. Nice numbers for DS CC.

Hay guys. When's Phantom Hour Glass coming out? I have to pick up a DS Lite for that. Any other games I should look into?
There's the obvious titles like New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, and Yoshi's Island DS.
Also, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

If you like turn based strategy - Advance Wars: Dual Strike.

The two FPS on the machine are both great - Metroid Prim Hunters, and Bionicle Heroes.

Puzzle action? Nothing beats Meteos.

To round off my list, I suggest Metroid Prime Pinball, Lunar Knights, Super Mario 64, and StarFox Command.
(you've already picked out what could possibly be the best RPG on the system ever, so I'll let that be)

... and don't forget about Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword!!!

This will be my 3rd time owning a DS. I just can't hang onto handhelds for long, I stop playing them and get bored. Now I'm keeping them, because I'm tired of buying them.

I think I'll wait till October to get a DS Lite. Zelda, Ninja Gaiden, Pokemans, for starters and later on Dragon Quest Monsters Joker. DS Lite Onyx am get!

That's a nice little list Plumb.. I actually own some of those games even though I no longer own a DS :) I need to pick one up again myself.. I got rid of my DS Phat because the lite was coming, but then got scared away by the lites inferior d-pad. Was hoping they would make a small revision. I mean.. it's Nintendo after all.

I forgot about Sonic Rush, but Rush Adventure looks like it will destroy the first one.

Btw, Grift, I haven't had any problems with the D-pad on the Lite, but then I've never even touched a Phat before so I guess I don't have a good angle on the whole situation.

The dpad is wonky yeah, but it's only noticable in games that have you pressing the diagonals. Sonic Rush for instance isn't affected by it AT ALL, and the only game I can think of off the top of my head that is, is Metroid Prime Hunters, and even that is managable once you get used to pressing further out on the pad.

It's a bit like the square button on the PSP really, before long you won't even think about it.

Yeah I saw that earlier on a blog actually, but that was tiny and not very good quality. This was actually presented on the Wii through a new channel you can download if you're in the US.

Looks great nonetheless, but the lack of hype is certainly alarming. I'm sure it'll be good, but without awareness it's not gonna sell. :O

Well, Mario Party 8 didn't get that much hype(not that it deserved it) and that sold like hot cakes! Believe! :P

anyway, from all the videos I've seen it all looks like win. Also, this is the last game in the Prime series, right?

Also part of the WiiWare promotion thingy that.. didn't seem to make it over here. :(

And yeah, this is the final part in the Prime trilogy. Which is sort of sad because with the Wii and with the character interaction in 3 it's bound to be very different, and hit a brand new stride for Metroid. :O

Then again, Retro are obviously rediculously talented, so it'll be cool to see what they do next.

I really don't know, but MP3 is pretty clearly a technically more advanced game than the previous ones. That Sky City level has incredible draw distance and it still runs at a rock solid 60fps just like its predecessors. I don't think MP1 will ever look bad though, it's just flawless in its art and execution.

What I meant by MP3 being different though is that there are other characters in it this time around. You'll actually interact with other, talking characters that further the plot, and other Hunters will be in there to both aid you and fight you.

You control the ship too this time. From what I understand you can have it hover above you and send it to places and stuff like that. It's definitely not a modest "let's keep it basic" final game. It actually does a whole lot of new things beyond the obvious Wii controls like yanking shields off and grabbing/turning switches.

Yeah I know all that jazz, I just seem to recall reading somewhere that this is using the same engine from MP1/2, just tweeked and what not. Just makes you wonder what the next Metroid installment will look like, if they do make one, and if it appears on the Wii. Anyway, I'm just trying to tide the wait over with mindless speculation. Not all of us are lucky enough to spot one of those white unicorns in the wild you know :P

It's without question one of Ninty's biggest franchises now, so I'm sure they'll make a new one. I sort of hope Retro take a break from Metroid and tackle something else in the meantime though. I'm sure there are plenty of franchises that they could inject their talent into and revive for the system. :O

On a different topic though, has anyone heard of "It's a wonderful world" for DS? From what I understand it won't actually be called that when it comes out here, but that's its name in japan. I've been unable to find any solid info on it despite it being.. out?

It's like.. a rythm... based.. action jRPG?

It's a Wonderful World looks awesome.. I don't know much about it either, but it looks great. I like the name too, I hope they don't change it.

ASH reminds me of FF9 a bit, art style and the way the battle engine looks.

Would be nice to see a video or trailer for it, CGI cutscsnes look very good also.
