As pleasing to the ears of 360 fanboys as this rumour may be, there’s arguably poor evidence to back this claim up. The source of the rumour is the invitation for the Rock Band party at E3 that Game Life has got their hands on. At first glance, it looks like any other invitation to a big party. However, when you delve deeper, you’ll notice something odd about the good deal of logos sitting at the bottom. There’s the Harmonix logo, the MTV official logo and its games division logo, the 360 logo and then the EA Games logo etc. Where the heck is the Playstation 3 logo?

From the Bonus Round from Sunday they pick Rock Band as their speculative "Best of E3". Interesting...

It might be possible because of accesories shortages - if EA knows in advance that there might not be enough accesories for one platform, why release the game for 2 platforms simultenaously?

But it's EA, the most platform agnostic publisher on Earth, so it's very dubious.

i wouldn't be surprized but i dont think this game will sale well so it should be multiplatform to get the most customers

I'm sure AE and MTV will hype the game to death, so it will sell well. We don't know if it'll be bigger than Guitar Hero, though.

I think GH will still outsell it for sure, but RB is still the better game :P

Yea I wouldn't be shocked if GH3 outsells Rock Band just because it has the namesake. Hopefully we're wrong though, they deserve all the best.

Granted, I still think GH3 could turn out to be a fantastic game too.

How big(=influential) is MTV in USA at the moment? Could their support somewhat help Rock Band sales?
imo Rock Band has chances to have an E3 show similar to what Wii had last year, so it could potentially be a strong brand before it even hits store shelves.

MTV hyped up Guitar Hero pretty high too before. They had it on TRL a lot, doing give aways, GH battles, and what not. I expect them to do the same for RB now, so who knows.

Well there's something pure and simple about Guitar Hero that I think Rock Band will have a difficult time of sort of overcoming even if it does get tons of exposure. Two drunk guys sliding around on their knees wobbling a guitar, it's so perfect.

Meanwhile Rock Band seems like way more of a hassle.

It doesn't have to be more of a hassle though. It's not like they're forcing you to play the whole four part co-op thing.

COD 4's pre-alpha stage looks better than most game's gone gold stage.

Saying you cant find animaton in Japan is like saying you cant find food in Italy. Its simply not true.

Only for the whole thing. You're welcome to just play Guitar if you want. Plus the MTV backing is going to mean some serious weight in licensed music. Plus the drums look awesome.

As the established brand, Guitar Hero III will be the bigger seller this year but from what I've seen, Rock Hero will be the better game and the co-op play will be what makes it take off.

Even more so if they nail the online, that's not easy however.

One thing I think will make this game possibly more appealing to the masses in general is the controller. At the point of purchase, it won't take people long to realize that RB has a much slicker peripheral(s).
