I was worried when I started seeing screens that Free Radical had forfeit the distinct personality of their games by moving away from the cartoony style. I still largely prefer what they did before, but the yellow elements in this game makes it stand out a bit. The yellow streaks and crosses on the nectar soldiers' helmets really give it a unique look, however subtle.

And it's nice to be able to say a game looks nice without having it be analyzed to bits. :)

With all the technology we have today, why are some developers choosing to use last gen engines to develop their games?

In what way does it look "just as bad as KZ2?" In what way does KZ2 look bad? Keep in mind you're talking "bad" here...not "not amazing" but bad.

Not all devs do that, just bad ones, like Free Radical, they have been using a modified perfect dark engine since they left rare.

Looks amazing!

Haze is a PS3 purchase for me most definitely.
Free online and knowing Haze is the lead platform, nothing gets scrapped.

But yeah Haze looks awesome, and I love both the Mantel and the Rebels.
And I keep seeing different characters on the screen, so my guess is we can choose different character skins, which is always a nice touch in my book.

The ones that are big but looksbad is obviously the ones that has very bad screenshot captures.

Anyways, Killzone 2 and Haze are the only FPS games I am gonna by anyways.

I'm not convinced by these screens, some look very wet and plasticly like PD0 to me.

Still Free Radical have a pedigree so I'll be sure to give this game a go. I never liked Timesplitters though, too quick and frantic for me.

Yeah but it was the samething with Mass Effect man. Some screenshots that are taken are obviously not officially from the company itself.

But the ones that look great, like the ones I gave link, those are the ones that can be expected as visuals in the end.

I don't like the way the game looks. I think the texture work is ugly, same problem with KZ2. However KZ2 at least has cool lighting affects, but it cheats because it is a very dark game.

All dark games look better with lighting. Splinter Cell, and racing games at night. Lots of examples of that.

This game doesn't even have that advantage, it all looks very generic, nothing about it stands out to me.

Heh :P I liked it beacuse of that! If weapons are gonna spawn in fields you may as well get the full effect of Quake! That said, this game could be a perfect target for KB/MS support if it is frantic. That would cause a cult following of epic proportions.

It never was like this. Some images looks great, but some looks like they are making the game on my Pc, which is shit :P

Don't like the atmosphere of the game. Feels liniar and empty. Screens don't offer many advanced textures.

Looking more forward to Turok !
