Were they ever! It was nuts. I would normally never consider buying a game such as this, the genre is something I stay clear of usually.

However, I've got a damn good feeling about this one, I think it's going to end up being extraordinarily good.

It getting the sales on top of it, would just be the icing on the cake.

I'm excited for RDR, too, but I'm definitely going Alan Wake first. The RDR studio isn't the one in danger of going out of business if this game isn't successful. Remedy, as usual, are betting the farm on this game being a hit.
Where are you getting this? Any links to support this claim? And honestly--you think Microsoft's singular exclusive this season is in any danger of flopping? This one surrounded by this much hype?

I haven't heard that, that's why I was asking for links. But you're crazy if you think that they're not getting a ton of funding from Microsoft now, or that this game won't sell very well.

Remedy will be fine.

Yea, Remedy said it at some developer event, believe it was GDC. The statements were in both writing as well as video. The very existence of Remedy depends on this game's success.

I'll try to find the video footage.

In regards to the hype around the game, I don't know, it seems like the most attention the game has garnered as of late is in regards to the whole sub-hd debacle, and even prior to that when some freshly released media was put out there, discussion didn't really seem quite as robust as is usually the case for some other hyped titles before release. I hope I'm just overreacting, though. But it just seems that Alan Wake threads everywhere have never moved quicker and been so busy as was the case once this whole sub-hd thing started up.

Also, I don't know what Condemned is like, but many have made some condemned comparisons, even going as far as to say while the game is not packed full of gore, it's many times more creepy than Condemned.

The majority of people who buy this (or any other) game won't know that it's sub-HD and don't know that such a thing is entirely common.

I don't for a second believe that Remedy is in any real danger. This game will be successful.

It's looking like it'll be insanely good and I'm stunned that the Embargo ends well before the actual release date for the game. Guess the dev is just that confident in the quality of the game.
