Yea, I've been hearing some pretty serious praise for this game's story thrown around by my friends who have already beaten it, or are in the process of playing through it, and these are all people who I totally don't expect to even be interested in a game like Alan Wake, but they are singing its praises.

I have the game now. I haven't gotten the chance to play it yet, though. I probably would've played it late last night, but between me being a coward and my Celtics not finishing off the Orlando Magic, let's just say I wasn't in the mood :P

Don't worry, I will. I basically haven't had the time to play since I got it.

Earliest I'll be able to start playing is tomorrow, pretty much nothing to do tomorrow :)

Got too much I need to take care of till then, and I know if I start playing this game, I'll probably get so caught up in it that I'll pretty much cast other responsibilities aside, which is why when I do find some time I just play something like NBA 2K10, I can handle short bursts of that game without ignoring things I need to take care of. Tomorrow I'll be able to start catching up on what everyone's saying is an awesome game :D

Just finished it. I liked it while it lasted, the ending just like the whole story is unique. I'm not sure this is working well for a game though, but you have to see for yourself I don't want to spoil anything.

Okay... wow!? Damn it man, I don't want to go too overboard with how good I think this game is, since you know I can get a bit excited, but just wow. UNBELIAVABLE!

This game's story just feels different than what you normally get from a lot of games, or I wonder if that's just because I usually avoid games like this. This is a damn accomplishment, this game. It needs a sequel badly and I'm definitely not even done with the game as of yet.

I've chosen to go with the living room with the big entertainment system speakers for this game, and I'm glad I did :D

I just ended the game. Pretty cool, I never got tired of the shooting unlike many of you. The story was good, but the ending left a bit of "uh?" on me. The soundtrack is just perfectly chosen, it fits in perfectly with the mood of the game. Graphics were totally awesome throughout the game, I'm happy overall, and a great game for sure.

The ending was rather unsatisfactory because it created more riddles than it actually solved, the most pressing ones: Who's actually real and who isn't, and is Zane or Wake writing the story?. I watched Wild at Heart yesterday and it reminded me again how they said they were inspired by Twin Peaks. David Lynch would certainly approve of this. The characters, the writing and the whole plot were very well done.

OK, finally got around to finishing the game. Some parts are quite frustrating and annoying, but the overall storyline and atmosphere are very well done. All the stephen king stuff was kind of cool as well, even if i'm not a huge King fan outside of the dark tower books.

The presentation (besides awful facial animations) and mood are set very well. The combat is equal parts great and controller smashing, like most horror/thriller games. The mechanics aren't bad, but the hit detection is a frustration as well as the points were you are out of ammo.

Overall though I'd say it's a really well done game and probably one of the best atmosphere/story driven games so far this gen. It wasn't someting melted my face like Mass Effect 2 or Demons Souls, but it was still a really awesome experience.

I can only imagine how great the sequal could be with the proper amounts of polish and more variety.

Well, The game according to Vgchartz which are usually not that far off, isn't selling that well. So far the game has sold around 250k worldwide... not a failure mind you but not a success either.... I am fearing the worst! we may not get a sequel...

Well the dev's are positive so that's the main thing.

But I can tell you that our success is not dependent on what VGCharts says. At least we have seen quite a bit more positive numbers.

Damn, 250K? They put a lot of time and energy into this game, it would be a shame if the hard work didn't pay off for them as they are a good team.

Just 250k for a game of this calibur would indeed be a failure. Pretty sad, to be honest. The little time I'm getting to play this thing, I'm absolutely blown away by how great a game it is, and the way the story is told. I can't really get a chance to just sit down and go through the damn thing, though. I think I may even start over from scratch because I think my whole experience has been screwed from the inconsistent play time I'm able to give it.

I do think it came out at a pretty bad time, if it came out earlier or later in the year I think it would have succeeded. It really wasn't marketed very much so thats unfortunate. I really think they would have been better off releasing this game on PC, they would have sold a lot on Steam.
