Inscrit depuis 8251 JoursIt is not a good impression that EA or DICE want to put out there, to be indicative of what the retail version might possibly be.
This close to launch and this is what we get?
They might fix a lot of the bugs... but it has left a dim impression on me.
I remember the COD4 beta on Xbox 360 and it was very polished... no problems from what I remember.
Server issues, games dropping, clipping issues, etc.
I just expected more... and if EA wants to be on level footing with Activision and Infinity Ward, they sure didn't bring their A game to the Beta release.
If a lot of these issues aren't fixed in the retail by launch... COD stands to eat BF3's lunch.
This is all based on the Xbox 360 version.
I think EA should have skipped this Beta. It will just frighten people from pre-orders and retail.
I have it pre-ordered, but I'm not near as excited about it as I once was, and have doubts it can equal or unseat COD.

Inscrit depuis 7554 JoursThe only serious bug I've seen in the last 24 hours is the dead-body-but-not-really-dead-guy bug. And that's all been fixed by some back end magic.. we haven't even had a client update.
And yes there are people who are just much better than you and aren't cheating.

If your angry about dying in a game, there is almost always a way to accuse them of glitching, cheating and hacking.

Oooh, Profound, isn't it?
Inscrit depuis 7525 JoursI like what I am seeing (it is more of a PC Battlefield) and the Caspian map on the PC looks awesome--huge and pretty. I am reserved to the fact the tech implimented is pulled back on the consoles and also means some of the basics also look reserved (comparing this to MW2 at 60Hz or Rage makes it look spartan).
I am hoping this is a REALLY old build w/ low quality assets and that the release version has a TON of big fixes and is smoothed out. BF2, even 1942, tell me I should wait until Feb 2012 to pick this up :P Even though it and FM4, along with the new Trials, are "the" games of the year for me--I have been waiting all year for them!

Inscrit depuis 7554 JoursIt could still be a messy launch. It's not going to be that bad though. The biggest seems to be largely solved and it's only been a day since they exposed to BF3 to the most players it's had period. There's no way they can test performance on this scale without actually seeing this many people play.

Anyway.. back to the game for a minute. I don't know what i think of the .44 Magnum. It's punchy but slow. I think the high rate of fire and relatively awesome accuracy of other pistols makes them a bit easier to kill with.

Inscrit depuis 7321 JoursMy dude and all the bodies kept moving to left all the time. Then my gun disappeared when I reloaded it. Next match my dude kept moving up and down all the time. Then when I tried to sneak around in prone I went trough the floor. All this in the 10 minutes I played this. BC2 was buggy game long time so I think it's better just wait some 50% off deals before getting this. I am not paying again to play DICE's beta test.

I honestly dont see all this being fixed for release. I think i'll wait untill i get the greenlight that even the most basic of features are working properly before i buy it. I predict 6 months. Hopefully the game will be cheaper by then.
Inscrit depuis 7554 JoursSince the reboot everyone I've been playing with has pretty much had the thing work as intended. I've still seen some bugs (like the dead body bug), but the clipping stuff was clearly related to the rubber-banding lag, which I have not encountered once in the last ten hours of gameplay. I'm not commenting on the state of the console version, but the PC game actually works pretty well now for me. There are some pretty annoying "minor" bugs, and I actually think they're sorta a bigger deal. The stuff that people got all pissy about (the stuff that's *already fixed*) was bound to get immediate attention anyway.
I'm more worried about having zoom freeze up on you until you swap weapons--the little, important stuff, that players don't seem to be paying much attention to. It's understandable that people went directly to the thing that was making the game unplayable.. but now that the problem has been identified and mostly resolved.. I wish people would focus on the little things that will likely take forever to see fixes for.
