Jumping into some of those dom servers can be a little rough at times too. It's where a lot of good infy players go to practice infantry.
Surprise update today
Inserted mention of the "Shot behind cover when changing stance" fix. This was missing in the original post.
Dec 9 PC Game Update Notes
Shot behind cover when changing stance
Sometimes the character stance could get into a multiple frame desync and be part of the problem where you got shot even though your character was actually behind cover. This would mostly affect players doing transitions into crouch and prone as well as moving when crouched. The impact was smaller in a standing stance. This bug fix eliminates this particular desync issue.
We have also increased the camera height when crouching and moving to more accurately reflect the actual height of your soldier in that stance (the first person camera was too low when crouching and moving, resulting in that you had a poor representation of how much of your soldier that was actually out of cover.)
-Fixed one of the most frequently occurring client crashes
-Fixed broken collision on containers with open doors. The bug previously made grenades bounce back even though the doors were open.
-Fixed a bug in Defuse mode where defenders could win the round by killing all the attackers without disarming the bomb, if the bomb was disarmed in the previous round.
-Miscellaneous stability fixes further reducing the number of client crashes
-Fixed side gunner jitter when aiming in attack boats & transport helicopters
-Fixed some instances of frame rate drops when shooting at large Levolution objects after they have been destroyed (like the radar dish on Rogue Transmission)
-Fixed broken aiming for passengers on the China Rising dirt bike
-Fixed a bug where the sound when capturing a flag was not playing correctly
-Removed a bug that would double save during MP round transition and SP level transition. This fix will reduce the occurrence of corrupted save files.

I tried a lot of different things, and ultimately it became pretty stable. It's hard to say what fixed what. Pretty ridiculous.
The change to the crouch camera is interesting... I wonder how weird that will feel :D
I'm glad they're not holding back PC patches for console certification this time.

I want the UMP-45 but since personal defense weapons are now all kit, I don't even know when I'd use it. They're run and gun weapons and it doesn't really make sense to use a PDW over a carbine on Engi.
I have been thinking of doing it though when the mp crashes to much, it's only like four hours right? That would be less time than i spent in coop in 3 i think. At least not as tedious since it will be more variation, not having to spam that horrible chopper mission 10 times.

That is really, hands down, the worst thing about Battlefield 4. And all of the evidence you need to demonstrate the superiority of BF3.
The MP412 in BF3 is not just one of my favorite FPS handguns. It's probably my favorite gun in any game. Ever. The king of guns.
And they changed it. </3

And yeah DICE tries to please everyone and it never works. There's more than one reason to worry about Battlefield I think. I'm not even sure this is the beginning of the end. I think we're in the middle :D
To DICE's credit: Battlefield 3 is one of the few sequels (coming from Bad Company 2) that has more depth than its predecessor. It's not impossible that DICE puts out a few more awesome Battlefield games. Better games than Battlefield 4. It just seems decreasingly likely with the number of titles they're tasked with and the rapid dev. cycle.
It could have been easier to balance bc2 because it was smaller scalewise compared to bf2, 3 and 4.

Another good example: The AEK remains completely intact and a dominant weapon in the correct hands. I'm a little shocked that it's still so good.
But still.. the community influence is pretty apparent in Battlefield games. And that's good and bad I guess.

Never got to grips with the Rex though. Gun is cool as ice but never learned to handle the low rate of fire in close quarters. My aim is to bad and i like to spam the handgun when situations get pressured. :)

A lot of people don't get how devastating a change this is, because I guess they don't realize how good the REX was. It's just not the rapid headshot machine it used to be.
I will forever miss that pop-pop dead. You can't even proper double tap with it anymore. Let alone level a room full of people.

In the meantime, I use the 93R. That's my new go-to. That was nerfed too, but it started in BF3. And for good reason. The old 93R could have been a primary weapon.
Oh, and I've been using the Shorty a bit recently too. It's fun but stupid. A common theme. And it's unlocking my shotguns.
