Alright that game has officially started to bug me Difficulty wise. It's just WAY TOOO EASY and I am not even trying to level up AT ALL .. switched classes and still very easy .. such a shame because everything else is just superbely done! This game is meant obviously to be played on HARD. Oh well, second play through I guess :)

Yup, I think this game was aimed at younger gamers, LO seems to be a lot harder, at least from what the demo showed.

I sure hope so jolli. Such a shame really, The game is AMAZING but the dificulty level has really been dumbed way down. I cant remember but there was no option for difficulty in the beginning was there ? I remember selecting new game and that was it.

No, The second time playing through you get different options, the super hard setting is impossible unless you use your old charcter data though.

For example the Sand Shark will hit you for 250+ and you only have 40 odd HP lol.

From what i gather the only way to get all characters to level 99 is if you play through a second time with the old character data.

Even though the game is easy the Achievments aren't :S

Now that i think about it, the hard and extra hard settings where through a downloadable add on, which isn't avalible on the European marketplace yet.

You could try downloading it from the JP MP, it may work, although it doesn't work with the Asian version so it is unlikely.

EDIT:..

Just tried Super hard at Level 45 and still got my ass kicked by the Land Shark .. :P

Blue Dragon a 9 from Gameinformer and I'm not going to lie a very VERY surprising.

4.75 out of 5 from Gamepro.

For some odd reason I honestly didn't expect Gamepro to give the game a good review. Looking at a number of the stories they ran (a ton of 360 bashing) really gave me the impression that they were going to literally rip the game a new one.

Guess I was wrong.

Yeah i been switching classes now and again...i am in the gorgo village on disc two now and am lvl 30 already aint really tried leveling so much either just killing what i come across.
The only boss that killed me so far is that one on the water cavern and that was because i got careless..i have heard that the NM's or whatever they are secret monsters later on are hardcore tho.

Just three minutes to spare, won't be able to jump on the offer anyway. Will see if they can make an exception just for me tomorrow. Otherwise I might just wait for the price to drop a bit before I pick it up.

We Even have French voices as well :) It seems our French friends dont actually have the Japanease voices though and I've seen a couple of people around forums quite pissed about it actually. Dont know why they didnt include it ??

Seems to be different versions all over, I just hope we consistently get the UK version here in sweden, since we speak swedish and english, not.. you know.. every other european language like PAL distributors seem to have assumed in the past.

Well they cant include all voices this time around. the game is already in 3 dvd so they would need another one to include all languages and that would be just stupid :) Dont know why screwed it up though for France. It seems obvious to me, the country's language and then add english and japanease and that's about it.

Ahh yes but the chance of people speaking Swedish and English is higher than Swedish and Japanese :P

I guess if they had the main language and Japanese for every european country it would become a distrubution nightmare.

They think story is weak, characters are boring and generic. They think marumaro is really annoying.

Enchanted arms in comparison received a 7.1 from Gamespot and Blue Dragon got a 6 so they believe Enchanted Arms is a better jrpg. I don't agree, but I suppose its a hate it or love it type game. Doesn't change my opinion any about the game itself though :)

they didn't say the story itself was weak per say, just that the western localization was half-assed which caused a hit to the story(certain things lost in translation etc.). Which I sort of agree with, and the game runs like ass. What the hell they did with the time after the Japanese release is beyond me. They didn't fix anything


Anyway, the guy said it was still a fun, enjoyable game despite its faults. Talking about the GT video review, seems you're talking about the Gamespot one.

Yea apparently they didn't work on optimizations afterwards. Gamespot thought the story was weak I think.

And yea Gametrailers says the translation really hurts the story which I can see being the case as I've never been a fan of the english voice acting from what I heard. Japanese voices all the way for me. Kenshin I wasn't complaining I was just stating what gamespots review said. I didn't start talking about the GT review yet. At first I though you posted the gamespot video review and not a gametrailers one.

But yeah, I don't see how they said the graphics, presentation were under par in the GS review. I can understand some of the other complaints, but that one? Oh well

They obviously dont get it Optimus. What a shame, obviously people are having trouble accepting these kinds of games on the 360. The game is just as good as dragon quest if not better, yet it's a crime to give dragon quest a below 9 score because let's face it, it's dragon quest. To be honest, I wish the game selles well despite the critics so that we can hopefully get a sequel and let's hope that Lost Odyssey wont face the same fate.
