Releasing a 30$ tutorial is quite a new feat though but the devs are defending the game with the following statement:
“Are Journey and Dear Esther long? Voltaire’s 18th-century writing Candide is like a hundred pages at most. Yet they are masterpieces of video game and literature. This smearing will not stain and affect what we’re aiming to achieve with MGS, the game industry in Japan, or video games as a whole.”
The price tag to Journey and Dear Esther are both around 15$-20$, much lower than the asking price for Ground Zeroes.
“I want people to celebrate the new MGS like we used to. I’m not dismissing their concerns. But this issue surrounding the game’s length has been trumped-up,” Said developer Amaro.

and bringing journey into it. a game that is hilariously LONGER at 3 hours, and cosst a third of the price. if he doesnt get why we're hating on a £30 DEMO, then he's a moron. price it accordingly and people will get on board. but seriously. 1.5 hour demo for £30...fuck that.
How did that even happen. I'd understand it if they bumped up the res for the xbone version. But it's the same. Only the patch has made the framerate worse.

And to your original argument, MGS has been well regarded graphically over the years. PS1, PS2, PS3. The fact that this game spans multiple gens is a big part of why it's not as impressive.

As for the graphics, sorry but I disagree, The MGS games have never impressed graphically on any console when compared to other showstoppers. All I am saying is the series is not a graphics benchmark.
