After the backlash from gamers concerning digital and drm, i doubt either party will be quick to move away from traditional consoles, not for another generation at least. Sony are playing it smart, planting the seed of digital and cloud streaming. MS's method of attempting to go all in immediately won no-one over the same way the PSP-go didn't.

Sony isn't doing well, no doubt about it. But I find it extremely unlikely that they aren't still Sony Corp. by the time PS5 is released. They've got some positive divisions, just need to keep cutting the fat and the money sink hole that is their TV division (and their shitty management of their movie division).

Playstation is their only profitable devision. Which leads me to think even if things go wrong for them in every other sense, they will always have SCE. It'll be the last one they sell or merge and i think they'll continue with playstation hardware. They'll just become nintendo (minus the complete lack of third party support) an entirely game focused company. As for the lack of exclusive news, i'd say that was more a case of far better control within the company. How many E3's have been ruined now over leaks? Hell, even they have said on stage how certain titles have been worst kept secrets. They have 5 new IP's registered, as well as sequels to their big titles and known unknows such as ND's second title besides uncharted (TLOU 2?). They don't seem to be letting up on that front, we just know less about them going into E3. Which, as far as i'm concerned, is a good thing.

Just wait for Sony E3 when they gives you numbers how great they are. lol

Also I know this is vgchartz but surely this is too bad for even their guess. WD sold 1million more on PS4 and PS4 selling nearly 4times Xbone. Even if they are remotely close that is much bigger than I thought.

As far as next gen goes. I guess 1080P 60fps with VR will be the future. No way the 400-500$ consoles can do 2K let alone 4K.

They've sold of their their Vaio PC division and spun off their TV manufacturing business. I don't think they'll ever sell off the SCE division, but it could be a good candidate for a spin-off if Sony's board thinks it would be profitable. I definitely think Microsoft should do it. A top - down gaming division would be very exciting and a positive for gamers.

Sony would not split PS or sell it. This is place where they can be at top. So that would be one of the worst idea ever. Microsoft have definitely under delivered and their vision of all in box has confused consumers. But anyways they need to have a good show and games this gen to be competitive. Next gen is still a long way to go.

Anyone still read misterxmedia? His Microsoft E3 conference reaction post is absolutely incredible reading material. If you don't want to give him clicks (hell I do, its pure entertainment), his "insider" tells everyone what is going to happen at the Sony conference and literally every single thing he says is completely wrong. God I love that site.

What do you think about Halo package for Xbone ? I think it could probably be the best selling exclusive as yet. Obviously COD:AW and Destiny even on individual format like PS4, Xbone will sell more. Considering only exclusives

Which are the top selling exclusives anyways? I think Sony said some months ago Killzone:SF sold over 2million. Anyone knows Titanfall or Forza numbers ? Infamous:SS ? or whatever is top selling exclusives. Sony is not having a killer. LBP3 on PS4 got a really good cheer in the show when announced but I doubt it will sell much. DC looks great but it is not a Gran Turismo so I do not see million mark in it. Sunset overdrive can be a contender I guess. FH2 not much. TLOU remaster not sure either. Uncharted4 next year. Halo5 will do well. But otherwise I think Halo Masterchief edition looks to take number1 spot for now as far exclusives goes ?

i doubt a remaster will do big numbers. but then if you're super desperate for exclusives it might do. i mean, as much as i want last of us, i don't see it selling gangbusters like the original release did, not unless there where a LOT of people who waited for a PS4 version or want to rebuy. ultimately it's a re-release. and so is the master chief collection. combined with the small userbase on xbone, i'd say about 2 million, if that?

Shortly after the conference Halo MCC was No. 1 in videogames [all formats] on amazon.com. Now on 5th place. Not bad for a game that isn't out for another 5 months AND is on Xbox One.

It still is No. 1 on Amazon UK and No. 3 on Amazon Germany.

Have to say I am a bit surprised ...

I think you're going to be surprised if you think that Halo is not going to perform well.

This isn't a remake of a game people just played six months ago, it's one of the biggest online console games of all time. And it's not currently available/playable in any form! Halo is going to sell.

I don't think he's saying it won't perform well. I think he's questioning how anyone would think a Halo game being #1 on amazon is some kind of news, or at least that's kinda my reaction to it. It'll be #1 on amazon for probably the entire month leading up to, and after its release. Guaranteed. Its halo baby... everyone loves it. I'm gonna find it near impossible to not buy an XB1 when it releases.

This isn't a remake of a game people just played six months ago, it's one of the biggest online console games of all time. And it's not currently available/playable in any form! Halo is going to sell.

The game literally CAN'T do its usual numbers though. A console of 80million units sold 8million copies of halo 4. A halo collection everyone has played on a console with what, 6million sales by christmas? I see 1.5 million sales if that. 2 at a stretch. And that would still put it below Killzone shadow fall. But then it's a remaster. They're not going to be releasing it with gangbuster sales figures in mind.

Oh it can easily sell more than that. Its halo, which is synonymous with Xbox.. meaning the attach rate will be super high. I expect it to sell through 3 million before 2015

There is no was DC or FH2 can keep up with it. Forza5 may be since it is launch game. Shadow Fall as well would probably be close to 3million mark by then.But I think Master chief edition is going to sell like crazy 2-3million I guess. Though I would still imagine more people playing Destiny and definitely COD:AW on Xbone and PS4.
