Yeah I hope nobody takes this score too seriously. We have all been looking forward to this game and been drooling at every new video posted. Don't allow one magazine's opinion to kill your excitement.

Unfortunately some people actually do take this stuff seriously. I really hope that once the game is out, people can post detailed impressions. I don't want to trust the verdict of a guy who probably played this game in 1 hour and made up his mind on it.

As I said, Full Auto got 80s across the boards. I couldn't even bear to finish the game.

Mission 32 is on track 3/3 with 13 cars instead of 12!!! WATCH OUT!

Here's the game that supposedly got Game of the Month:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlqwfVlPcn8&search=...

It's like a DS game where you have to pause the action every time you draw on the screen.

LMAO

In other words, if these scores are indeed from the new EGM, they are entirely worthless.

Okami has beautiful art and is a really cool game from everything I have seen. Very ingenious and unique. I would hold off on being too negative on Okami :D

I couldn't agree more. Okami has amazing art style, and the gameplay didn't look too bad from the videos I saw.

That'd be cool on the Wii. But I had no idea Okami had been released. I remember reading about it, and it looked cool from the videos. I'm gonna have to check it out

Anyway, I checked out the Masterbit theater stuff on Dead Rising. Other than proving the IGN guy playing the game has the IQ of a small chimp, the video just showed me how cool the game is...and that demo can't come soon enough. Only thing that bothered me was that once a zombie is down, you can't finish them off, but wait for them to get back up. Or it could be that the IGN guys didn't know what they were doing...I need that demo.

Saints Row PS3 launch title my behind its a 360 exclusive and notice how dead rising shows up first on his list? I wouldn't be surprised if its some random fanboy spouting his nonsense at any rate I don't care ;D
Huh? I was pretty sure Saints Row was announced as multiplatform--wasn't it? Maybe not, guess I could be wrong.

I don't know if it has ever been called an exclusive, but I'm pretty sure it has only ever been announced for the 360.

because of that, I really doubt they've been working on a ps3 port as well all this time in secret and cna just pull it out in a few months, even if that is what they want to do.

I'm at work so I'll just give this a brief Woo and Boo for the things I care about.

Dead Rising - 7.5, 7.0, 8.0 - Woo (For its genre, this is a brill score. What did you really expect?)
Ninety-Nine Nights - 4.5, 4.5, 6.0 - Boo (Seems harsh, we'll see.)
Okami - 9.0, 9.5, 9.0 (Gold Award) (Game of the Month) - Woo Woo Woo! (Although quite expected)
Flatout 2 - 5.0, 4.5, 6.0 - Boo (And also: WHAT!?)

- New Prince of Persia for next-gen consoles - Woo
- Luigi's Mansion sequel for Wii - Woo
- Free Virtual Console games to be packaged with select Wii launch titles - Woo

If I left something out it means I don't really care.

Microsoft are packaging Saint's Row with the 360 in Europe, why would they do that with a title that will supposedly launch with the PS3?

EGM are full of crap, always have been. They complain about only having one save slot and being able to miss timeframes for missions.... isn't that the POINT? It doesn't make for a tense survival game if you can quicksave every five minutes and get around with relative ease. Hell even the developers have said it is intended to be played through multiple times.

EGM, espically Shane, are the biggest sony fanboys around. I don't take any of their reviews serious. I believe shane said something on the lines of WOW being annoucned as a PS3 exclusive at this years E3, and how it was going to blow everyone away. To add in the EGM mag i got a couple of months ago they had FF7 Remake coming out in 07....

yea I don't trust that site or mag for anything

By far the largest complaint with Dead Rising was the archaic save system. You can only save at certain areas, and you only get one save slot. This, coupled with the game's time limit, can easily cause you to miss important story events and therefore force you to restart the game. Many times.
This just seems like a pathetic complaint. It is supposed to be a survival horror game that you play through multiple times, increasing the abilities of your player each time. If you miss a story event then you make sure to note it down so you don't miss it on the next play through.

Especially when it isn't any different from finding typewriters in Resident Evil or notebooks in Silent Hill. The time intensive nature of the game has been advertised for such a long time that to ignore it in a review is very silly.

Was that from EGM? Because then they have entirely missed the point. The game is designed so that it is NOT possible for you to complete all the cases (read objectives) on one playthrough, therefore encouraging repeat playthroughs.

Like I said, some reviewers are just going to not like it and that will be it. It's better than getting a load of mass market games that everybody likes after all.
