BF3 should cover that, right? That's having me eyeing that second GTX570 again. I'm pretty sure one is enough for D3 tho :)

I've got that Ati 4870x2 at the moment. It still holds up alright, but I def need a new one for BF3.
I need to get back into the hardware market and will be reading through some product reviews the coming weeks...
Any recommendations? Price is not an issue....

I'd think a 4870x2 might actually be okay for BF3. If price isn't an issue, GTX580 SLI is still top tier. The MSI GTX750 Twin Frozr III I'm using also kicks ass when you overclock the hell out of it, and it has a lot of room for that. I think another would keep me happy for a long time. Right now BC2 runs maxed out at a near constant 70+ fps, so I'm sorta holdin out to see how the alpha/beta runs before I go and buy another GPU. Positive that any of those solutions would murder D3.

My only complaint about the current nvidia line-up is the odd amount of ram they use. 1280mb? Strange. That said, the closest competitor to this board is the 6950, and while that's a great card, the 570 still has more raw power. Shame it doesn't also have 2gb of frame buffer. I have a 4870 in my older PC, so I'm not much of a product loyalist. I actually seem to (unintentionally) jump ship every generation :) The biggest bottleneck that machine has in modern games is the Core 2 Duo it's packing. This 2600k runs circles around it.

So GTX580 is the top of the line on Nvidea's end?
How about AMD? 6990 looks to be top end, but that ends up to about 550 for one card...

There's a GTX590 too, but I really think both of this generations dual-gpu boards are sorta bs. You can get similar performance out of GTX570 SLI (especially on OC board like Twin Frozr.. granted, we're approaching the same price point with that solution) or Crossfire 6950 2GB, and the latter is a fraction of the price of the other ATI alternative. HD6950 (2GB) w/ the 6970 shaders unlocked and overclocked in SLI would probably meet or beat the 6990 at a much lower price point.

ATI's current boards also catch up a little in Crossfire (compared to SLI) because of their awesome scaling. The GTX570 is definitely better in BC2 than the 6950 (from what I've seen).. but when you compare the dual GPU solutions.. the gap gets really close.

New info released;

- D1 Warrior (the Dark Wanderer) was retconned, he is now King Leoric's eldest son.
- Fire reigns from the sky, dead arise from graves, bring heroes to Tristram.
- Book of Cain fills the 20-year gap between LoD and D3.
- Leah is Adria's daughter and Cain's adopted niece.
- 6 active skills instead of 7. Traits revamped into "passive skills," only 3 active at a time.
- Cauldron of Jordan: Allows you to sell items from battle.
- Nephalem Cube: Salvages items.
- Stone of Recall: D3's version of a hearthstone.
- Stash is huge! Larger than LoD's and has 5 pages, that you can purchase for gold.
- DH has 2 separate resources, Hatred and Discipline, both regenerate at a certain rate.
- Beta will only be a portion of Act 1 and will be relatively small.
- Real money auction house as well as a gold auction house and direct trading.
- Banner system to represent each person individually.

Yeah I am not liking the auction house with real money at all. It just mean that to get some really neat stuff you must be really lucky or pay moneys to it. I bet no one will sell the better stuff with in-game currency.

Also is this game region locked for MP like SC2 is? Fucking hate region locking MP. Like if I want to play laggy matches with my friends from other regions I should fucking have the option to do it.

Well considering the beta isn't region locked I think you'll be alright.

And one good note about the auction house:
Hardcore characters can't use the real money auction house...

There's already been money to be made.. there have been marketplaces online for basically every major multiplayer RPG and MMORPG. This just legitimizes the practice, and it gives Blizzard control and a cut.

This is a far bigger deal in terms of shitty news:

1) The game requires a constant internet connection. It cannot be played offline.
2) Mods are “expressly prohibited.”

Before you could use runes to buy all the cool shit, now if some one gets great stuff he won't sell it with in-game gold...
