Your loss.. just play Marvel Ultimate Alliance or something if you're really that uncomfortable holding a mouse and pressing hotkeys. Diablo 3 is going to be nearly impossible to play with a gamepad and it isn't likely that it will include support out of the box. Hacking together some kind of solution so you can play it with a gamepad is probably going to be a lot more complicated than just adjusting to playing it with a mouse and keyboard.

And I know you can hook up PC's to HDTV's, but you said something about streaming it "to your 360." I thought there was a dashboard update that I hadn't heard of or something ;) (that would actually be a neat feature, if you could stream live video output from your PC to the 360.. some sort of virtual desktop for gaming.. I know that's not what you meant, but it would be cool!)

I'm pretty sure Crysis looks better on 30" LCD monitor (2560x1600 pixels) than a 1080p TV, even 24" LCD's exceed 1080p so I guess size and your couch exceeds the demand for good controls and a crisp display ;)

Some people are just PC-phobic I guess.Different sort of game, really.. but WOW did inherit a lot of things from Diablo 2. I'm sure D3 will be a big leap forward for the series though, in terms of gameplay. They're Blizzard--they're not just going to give us the same game with a fresh coat of paint. It will have been nearly 10 years, they know they have to deliver big time.

The combat is more action oriented, and it relies heavily on randomized content, the power of loot, and diverse character builds. Diablo is crack.

No, it's just sad that some people are so turned off by PC gaming that they'll try to pretend that PC games and console games are no different by design. Diablo 3 will be designed from the ground up with a mouse and keyboard interface, just like Starcraft 2, and it's pretty damn unlikely that either one will support the Xbox 360 controller out of the box. That's not to say it's impossible, but it won't work well unless it's Blizzard's intention to make it work well.

People have hacked together solutions to get the gamepad to work with World of Warcraft too, but that doesn't mean it was a good idea. If there's no consideration for gamepad support built into the product, then chances are, it's not worth doing.. regardless of how much pointing and clicking might turn you off. It will be like trying to play Super Mario Brothers with a mouse, it just won't make sense.

I was talking more about skills/trees than "hitting stuff till it dies."

I hope that the only thing D3 inherits from WOW is PVP. Blizz has learned a lot in that department since D2, where PVP was basically an afterthought and yet, still insanely popular.

Battle.net will live on through SC2 and D3 though, it seems.. which is good. I wouldn't mind some sort of false persistent overworld a la Guild Wars or Mythos, but I do prefer that they don't try to turn Diablo into some sort of World of Warcraft clone.. which.. they're not. Woot.Good call. I should find my D2 discs.. it's been a long time and the story is anything but fresh in my mind.
