I just downloaded the music for it (love the female choir and big orchestra) and the CG in HD, very cool.

I would say thats about right, I would have guessed Q1 of 2009 myself.

I can't play D2 the graphics (800x600) are making my eyeballs melt, so I really hope they release D3 in the next year or so.

Heheh yes you can but the thing is that there isn't official release date yet.

Too bad that the one who made the musics for D1&2 seems not to be making musics for this one :/ I love the musics in the first two games (Tristram music OMG!). I always turn the music volume to the max settings when playing :)

Yeah.. 800x600 2D on a 24" WS monitor is a bit harsh, but once I switched over from my monitors scaler to the GPU's, it's a bit softer and it's not making my eyes bleed anymore. The walk animations are so hilarious. Always run FTW.

I'd go play Mythos instead, but, it's just missing something... otherwise a perfectly cool game and in many ways an improvement over the classic.

Blizzard: Microsoft Could Do More To Support PC Gaming
"And I kind of look at it and say to myself, and I think similarly to Rob, is that it would be great if they put more emphasis on the Windows operating system, certainly probably the most prominent operating system in the world. Even more so than console boxes.

And they own and operate that system, so having them put more energy and effort against it – and they would say that they are, but I think that there’s more that can be done.

LOL.
I hate WOW's art direction, and I didn't think that D3 looked nearly as offensive. One of my buddies who is a WOW nut actually said, "OMG it looks like WOW!" to me and I thought he was off his rocker. I guess you can see some similarities between the two, but D3 has a much darker feel overall.

It doesn't look like a theme park attraction at Disney, or worse. Everything in WOW looks like a set piece... in a high school play.

QFT. If "It's a Small World After All" was playing while playing WoW, it actually wouldn't feel out of place.

Character's proportions and environments actually seem well though out in the footage I've seen of D3. WoW really just fell into the typical, generic fantasy art direction side of things.

Man, can I ever not wait!

Blizzard Confirms Unannounced Fourth Game, Next-Gen MMO
Despite ongoing efforts with StarCraft II, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and Diablo III, PC developer Blizzard has confirmed that it has another MMO in the works.

"There is still one unknown project," Blizzard executive VP Rob Pardo revealed to OnlineWelten during the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational. "We have another development team."

Pardo affirmed that Blizzard's recent job listings for an "unannounced next-gen MMO" were not related to Diablo III. The company had previously stated that the project was not a World of Warcraft expansion either.

Fans have long speculated that Blizzard may follow the ultra-successful World of Warcraft with a World of StarCraft MMO. The three-faction scenario and multi-world setting would seem to lend itself well to the MMO format.

Others believe that the project could be a new franchise, as Blizzard has not created a new property since StarCraft's release in 1998.

"The idea of a new franchise is very intriguing to employees of the company," said Blizzard chief operating officer Paul Sams to Gamasutra in a recent interview. "Are we ever going to release a new one? I would absolutely say we will at some point. I just don't know when that day will be quite yet."

And as for a release date on any of the three known titles? "We ship the games when they're ready," Pardo commented. "You guys know this."

I'm a little surprised by that, to be honest. I hope that it's a new franchise. It would be nice to see Blizz take on something entirely new.. though I had hoped that new IP would not be another MMORPG. I can't believe they'd want to compete with World of Warcraft though.. this thing can't be soon with WOW still going so strong.

They need to be really careful with this one. They should know better than anybody that going into this genre against World of Warcraft is an uphill battle.. and competing against yourself is almost never wise.

You know what I would like? An Oblivion style RPG from Blizzard but set in the Diablo universe. Now that would be pure and utter sex.

I would like an Elder Scrolls MMO by Bethesday first, I think.. but not as a sacrifice for Elder Scrolls V. There's some promising stuff going on in the genre.. Cryptic's new game is promising, there's Warhammer.. and hopefully Bioware's MMORPG is a real breath of fresh air.

I just started a Necro in D2. I don't think think this class is for me, it's entirely too passive. At least at low levels, it's a bit tedious. You just sit back and let your minions work for you.. that's not nearly as engaging as an offensive Sorc or an Amazon.

I was stuck in bed for a while a few months ago and picked up Diablo 2 again. Went through the entire campaign and the expansion with a Barbarian. After all this time its still extremely addicting, though I'm definetely ready for a installment. And as I said, I'll be getting a new computer. Fortunately I have some time to save up, the wait for Diablo 2 was simply agonizing.

Don't take minion skills then. Try this build example: http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=536928

It's a more like caster then. I haven't used that guide but I don't remember what skill I took long long time ago to my Necromancer :P

Here is more: http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?fn=d2-gen...

I don't ever do exactly how these build tell but I check them out that I don't have to calculate as much when trying something totally new.

How so, I don't see how their CGI even compares to something like Advent Children. :S

That petition is pretty lame is you ask me, sounds like a bunch of goth heads wanting something dank and depressing if you ask me, look fine as it is.

From what i hear they are loosing a lot of WoW fans though.
