I think Diablo II was too said to be too colorful compared to Diablo :P

I don't mind too much because there is still blood and limbs flying around + we have only seen couple areas. Some areas are going to be darker in the theme.

Well I guess now they have a few million more colours to use, it was bound to happen.

I still think it looks great and the outdoors area we saw looked almost hand drawn at times.

How so, I don't see how their CGI even compares to something like Advent Children. :S
Well, uh.. the Diablo 3 trailer does.

Don't take minion skills then. Try this build example: http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=536928

It's a more like caster then. I haven't used that guide but I don't remember what skill I took long long time ago to my Necromancer :P

Here is more: http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?fn=d2-gen...

I don't ever do exactly how these build tell but I check them out that I don't have to calculate as much when trying something totally new.
Word. Maybe I'll restart him.

Either that, or I'll just play a Zon again.

Amazon is great too. It's always so hard to start playing because every character has something interesting to try. Still it's recommended to look a bit guides before starting to play. You can easily ruin your character by getting too many different skills. Especially after 1.1 patch. It's harder and have those synergies between skills.

You don't need to care about what skills to get if you want only complete first two difficulties (depends on character though).

I wonder what is the currency in Diablo III. Now it is runes and equipment, no one wants money :D I think it's really cool. Sometimes by finding some other stuff you think right away omg I can now get that rune or some hot weapon :P

I looks to be the same, I'm kind of hoping they have a better enchantment/crafting/imbueing (call it what you will) system though.

Or different Advent Children. Never mind the fact that it's not even a game.

I kinda like the make stuff better system in Diablo II expansion. Runewords are nice and you can make something cool with horadric cube too but that is a bit more random on what you will get.

Some info about them:
http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/crafteditem...
http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/runewords.s...

I am happy with this system but I am always ready for some enhancements. What ever they are doing for Diablo III we will know they will add tons of stuff in expansion :D

Blizzard shows that PC gaming is far from dead, we just have higher expectations, that they deliver upon.

Back to D2, i do feel like reintsalling, the hardcore mode on bnet was the funnest thing ever, yet i do remmember uninstalling d2 when my barb was walking around with no monsters showing then i was dead... (of course soon after i installed again and repeated the process)

Yeah the lag is definitely your worst enemy in HC mode. Those damn lighting sparks are impossible to dodge when it's lagging. Also Barbarian + whirlwind in chaos sanctuary is almost instant death because of iron maiden.

Its a view of a large open space I believe.

I had no problem getting it to run on Vista myself, although the demo didn't like my graphics card, the actual game seems fine.

Diablo III producer says "Color is your friend"

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/07/02/diablo-i...
Why did Blizzard choose an art style for “Diablo III” that would anger so many fans? I got answers in Paris last weekend before people were really asking the question.

And I know of at least 14,000 people who’d like an answer. Those are the thousands of diehard “Diablo” fans who have signed a petition against the game’s new art direction (with more than 1,000 signatures added every hour).

When I asked lead producer Keith Lee about “Diablo III’”s new art style at the Worldwide Invitational in Paris, he explained why Blizzard went in that direction.

Some context first, if you’re not familiar with the old “Diablo” titles: they featured dark, shadowy landscapes and dungeons (in which the player-characters needed a radius of light to see), and an overall realistic art style. With “Diablo III,” the environments and textures are noticeably more vibrant and colorful, both inside and outside dungeons. Blaming the influence of “World of Warcraft,” the petitioners complain that the game is too “cartoon’ish” with “unrealistic elements” and “outside scenarios with vivid colors, beautiful forests with colorful vegetation, shinny [sic] and beautiful waterfalls where even rainbows take place.” (The petitioners have a full laundry list of complaints and suggestions here.)

So this is what Lee had to say about the art direction when we spoke in Paris: “One of the things that we considered when we were working on the visuals for ‘Diablo III’ is the fact that color is your friend. We feel that color actually helps to create a lot of highlights in the game so that there is contrast. A great analogy is like in ‘Lord of the Rings’ — not everything is dark. It allows you to see what a creepy dungeon can be like but if everything is dark it doesn’t allow you to have a lot of contrast.”

He continued: “‘Diablo I’ and ‘Diablo II’ are darker, and I think that the one of the main reasons why is the fact that in ‘Diablo I,’ you’re basically in a dungeon the whole time. And in contrast to ‘Diablo III,’ you’ll be exploring outdoors, you’ll be in dungeons, you’ll be experiencing so many different areas. We want to bring as much variety as we can when you’re playing the game so that you’re excited to check out new environments. We don’t want everything to look the same and that’s really what we’re trying to aim for.

“What we also tried to do is create very clean textures so that you can really focus. It’s a stylized feel and in that sense, it’s very sort of a Blizzard philosophy. It’s just really pushing the envelope in terms of the visuals so that everyone is excited about how everything looks. We think that ‘Diablo III’ is going to be better in so many different ways. We’re just building and improving upon the the first and second ‘Diablo’ games.”

I also asked Lee about how and when the dev team will take fan feedback into account. He wouldn’t go into specifics, but said:

“We’re very involved, because everyone’s very passionate about our games. Blizzard employees, we spend a lot of time actually iterating on [the game], and so in terms of the next phase, what we’ll try to do is a proof on concept on lot of different gameplay aspects. And we really want to get as much feedback as possible so that we can improve on the game and ensure that we meet Blizzard quality for our fans and for ourselves as players.”
God bless Blizzard. Color ftmfw.

The demo is really old and I would think that Blizzard haven't updated the demo. Did you try compatibility mode? You could change the rendering device to software too. It can be done from video test utility. You should find it from start menu and then Diablo II folder.

I agree with that.

Red is great color I want more of that ;) Hmm but when you watched the gameplay video there was many different color schemes. Dungeon was dark, then outdoors was nice looking place but when the characters moved closer to boss area it get darker.
