Speaking of LOD. The second time I watched the Horizon zero dawn demo I noticed how visible the LOD pop in was especially when she was on horseback.

It pretty bad to be fair. The grass in particular. I can't tell if its the ambient occlusion loading in around the grass or the grass itself. But i noticed it too

I wouldn't go that far. :)
Game still looks gorgeous.

I need to watch more Zelda gameplay since everybody is raving about it. Only seen the short trailer.

And I don't play Civ so that's why it's not on my list.

It's not like I don't want a Zelda that looks to par with other games this generation, but I don't think Nintendo will ever deliver it until they go 3rd party. That said I really don't think Wild looks bad at all. Oddly not quite as clean as Wind Waker HD but I'd much rather be playing it this year than ogling it for another three E3s.

It's not a distinction that I'm really too concerned about. I mean.. where do you draw the line exactly? If graphics are that important to you, 1080p/30fps isn't the best you can do. One day we'll play the emulated version at 4K anyway :O

I do kinda wonder how it'll look and run on NX though. I'm open to the idea of playing it there.

I like RTS, but I fear games like Civ VI because of the level of complexity they've attained

It has a lot of depth in ways that RTS games don't but in some ways it's easier. You get a bunch of policy advice in Civ, which isn't always optimal, but it helps you figure out those systems. Plus you can automate a lot of stuff when you start to get into the later/more complex stages of the game. There are also several paths to victory in Civilization, so outright military domination is not necessary. And obviously.. because it's turn based you can take your time. You don't really need uber micro for Civ.

I enjoy Civilization a lot. It strikes an interesting commitment balance too. A single game of Civilization can take several hours, but you don't need to play it all in one session, and I feel like I can walk away from it entirely for months at a time and just fire it up whenever I get the urge for some great and kinda relaxing (to me anyway) strategy.

Of all the 4X strategy games I've played.. Civ is the easiest to get into and it's also still my favorite.

Strategy games has taken a backseat for me for some reason. I would want to get into Total War again though.
