Well, the forerunner trilogy is definitely different from previous Halo books. It's filled with, quite possibly, more far reaching, galaxy spanning adventure and discovery than any other Halo book that I've read, and due to this fact, there can be pretty decent stretches of detailed description of the travels the characters are undertaking, without really knowing where they are going, and what they will find when they get there. However, once they arrive at a particular spot of importance, suddenly you're glued to the book and can't stop reading.

If I had to find something to compare it with from previous Halo books, it would have to be the early goings of the elite side of the story in Glasshands, but before you actually gave a damn about what was happening there and about any of the characters. However, I'd probably have to give the edge in overall awe and impressiveness of what I'm reading to Cryptum and Primordium, even though I love Glasslands to death as well.

Yeah, you read those books and your imagination just starts soaring over the gaming and cinematic possibilities.

Seriously, this is why Halo is such an piece of intellectual property. Just an unbelievable universe. So many cool and interesting secrets. So much depth, so well thought out. Every so often you see something, and then suddenly things in Halo : Combat Evolved make far more sense. I look at characters like 343 Guilty Spark in an entirely different light now, for example. With the way Human/Forerunner memories and experiences can seemingly be archived or extracted, you never know who or what some of these machines were once upon a time.

The possibilities are crazy. You start thinking about what this could mean for a movie, what this could mean for integration into the games, all kinds of things. And while reading Primordium last night,

did I seriously read something that seems to be suggesting that a Halo also possesses the capability to turn itself into a shield world!? Because the description of one of the various capabilities of a Halo installation from inside, I think, the Cartographer made one of those capabilities sound remarkably similar to that of what a shield world does. That's a revelation of epic proportions, if I'm actually reading it correctly.

All these survival mechanisms required great amounts of energy—energy in short supply after the sabotage of so many power stations.

Perhaps most impressive was the ability to suspend much of the wheel in time, lock it in stasis,
turning the installation into a great, reflective ring immune to all changes imposed from outside.

But the energy cost of such suspension was immense—perhaps more than the wheel could
muster.

As well, all around the system, energy that would have been absorbed by the Halo would
have to be deflected through a fractal-dimensioned slipspace, creating a suspicious scatter of heat
signatures and even high-energy radiation that could attract the attention of anything hunting us.

This game seems to have loads of weapons.

I just hope that this new grenade-pistol and the railgun don't replace the grenade-launcher from Reach, which is my favourite Halo weapon.

Noone betrays you for "stealing" it from the map (since most people actually seem to dont like it) and its a hell lot of fun to chase vehicles with it.

Person with the Chief is Rear Admiral Saeed Shafiq who is in a command position of some sort on the ONI ship called Infinity, most advanced ship in Human possession that has every pierce of forerunner/covenant technology that humanity has come across in the war against the Covenant.

It's also the same ship that I think houses the Spartan 4s.

He is in charge of UNSC Procurement of anything they can use to make the Infinity even better. Don't ask how I know, just a guess :)

Halo fiction is indeed awesome. Marathin was as good, but all of it in games themselves rather than in attached media (novels and comics). Halo obviously has a great movie potential but someone really skilled would need to turn it into one.

Yea, a Halo would need someone very skilled to handle it, as opposed to someone who will completely destroying the property. We need someone really good on it, like Michael Bay. It would be perfect then. I'm obviously just kidding :)

For some reason, I kinda wouldn't mind the guy that directed Kick-Ass. He seems like a guy willing to take some risks, and likely end up doing a damn good job.

Then again, maybe Steven Spielberg could work some magic on this thing. Wouldn't mind Peter Jackson, either. Nonetheless, there's indeed some very exciting potential for Halo. There are quite a few movies that, when you watch them, you can easily imagine a Halo movie from parts of it.
