the fact that pillar of autumn was parked up apparently for "repairs" get fucked, you telling me it took them just under a hour to drop red team off at circumference get into orbit land repair and pick up cortana (which apparently was only part of her? yet her device was fecking HUGE! and the full version in the chief is the size of a minidisk) and then escape?
there was many other, i highly advise you go to the waypoint forums to look them all up, but the one i mentioned was the one that annoyed me the most.

Either way, also hoping the game turns out to be awesome.

I don't have as much of a problem with it to be perfectly honest, but I truly understand where you're coming from. I've already tried over and over again to reconcile the events of the novel and the game, but it's a bit hard at times I must admit. Regardless of that, I still love Reach though.
Also, the Master Chief though, as you surely are is an easter egg, nothing more... Like the legendary ending for Halo: CE, where you see Sgt. Johnson hugging an elite. ;)

and bungie admitted recently on there 30th ani video the final act was cut due to time and machine constraints.. they wanted the battle to end on halo 2 not 3
As i said many times before way back when.. they just forgot to tell the PR guys, all adverts all posters indicated this was war on earth, we got one poncy ass level.
Shame reach did not have a legendary ending, i was hoping for a out view of the pillar of autumn been attacked and been docked.. that would of been ace, knowing the chief was inside kicking ass.

I know what you are refering to, namely the levels cut from the final game which were going to have place supposedly on Earth; There's still references to such in the soundtrack for the game.
However, I was refering to the final scene where you see Cortana being confronted by the Gravemind... The all "Sir, finishing this fight...!!!" was lame indeed, but to this day, I still get goosebumps everytime Cortana says "Alright; Shoot...!!!" and the Lost-esquee chimes in; Awesome stuff...!!!
They later expanded what happened between that time in Halo: Evolutions BTW. :)
Will finish Cole then onto Evolutions :D
Yeah cortanas part was ace, the worry of if she was going to be corrupted was so annoying while waiting for the 3rd instalment, making that scene where the chief leans over to get her all the more awesome " i do know how to pick them"

Wish he had done a better job while editing(?!) the Halo Encyclopedia... Hope the revised edition is actually worth the RPP.
When it comes to that scene in Halo 3, I am a fan as well, even though I wish that level was a bigger mindf**k for the player, especially having in mind the fact that Cortana was pretty much borderline rampant.

So far The Cole Protocol has been fantastic (just got to chapter 16 at dinner lol) whats the book like wrote by joe staten? harvest was it? always been put off because i blame him for the train wreck (imo) that was halo 2, i just think he kinda lost the plot, and that makes me very... weary of his book, hopefully wrong :)
Also waiting for the marvel comics to arrive... damn post service it takes 1 day to travel America and land on our shores then it takes our post force 3 weeks to get it 100 miles to my house.

Concerning Halo: Harvest, it's a good read as well IMO. It's probably not as sharp as Nylund's writing, from a sci-fi standpoint, but the characters are interesting enough and there's also great stuff concerning the origins of Truth, Regret and Mercy... Tartarus also plays a role, as well as Mendicant Bias; The role of the latter is ironic if you take into account his words from the Halo 3 terminals. Long story short, Staten did a good job, especially having in mind it was his first novel. I also have mixed feelings concerning Halo 2, since after meeting up with Gravemind, the game goes downhill storywise, most likely due to the already known time constrains.
BTW, if I might ask, which comic? The first part of the adaptation of the Fall of Reach novel? :)
I really hope Halo 4 is for Xbox 720 though, imagine a Halo game with Crysis like graphics running at 60 FPS...oh my!

Pretty sure Halo 4 will most likely be the last BIG Xbox 360 title that MS will ever release; I could be wrong, but I doubt it. A seven year run(!!!) without the release of a new console is pretty impressive in my book, especially having in consideration that the original Xbox had a lukewarm reception at best.
Prepare To Drop!!
