I wasn't interested in this game till Gamersyde posted their review.

I just assume all review websites have their own circle going on with a Master Chief in the center servicing everyone in one giant bukkake review fest.

These low points are openly exacerbated by the series’ staunch refusal to get with the times when it comes to game mechanics and level design, ignoring obvious enhancements like big-ticket sequences and proper iron-sights mechanics in favor of their age-old addiction to slow, methodical combat in unnecessarily large environments. And while I get that 343i was deathly afraid to come in and mess with the elements most consider Halo canon, it’s a lot to ask of us who play other games in the genre to continue to stomach a core most left behind half a decade ago. Mind you, some folks might find the videogame equivalent of being forced to eat your vegetables a comforting alternative to Microsoft putting a dash of modern in their combat, but when stacked up to Dishonored, Far Cry 3, and Black Ops II, Halo 4’s campaign feels as empty and uninspired as its strong, silent protagonist.

I wanna play... I wanna play... :)
But that doesn't mean Halo 4 is only for the hardcore fan. If you're new to the series or you simply have a passing interest, I implore you to give this game a look. Unless Black Ops II or Far Cry 3 manage to revolutionize the genre in astronomical ways, Halo 4 is the clear frontrunner for best first-person shooter of 2012. Heck, it may very well be the best game you play all year.

Look man, if you don't agree with some critiscism then you need help, I have literally never said I don't like Halo, I said is getting old yes but thats like my opinion of it, you don't have to agree with it nor I care if you don't.

What I get from this is that if I don't say "ZOMG HALOZ 4 TEH BEST GAMEZ EVER CREATED EVER ZOMG" Im trolling.

It's not about the bad review, heck you can probably find a site where they score the game with a 1 or a 2, I really don't give a shit.
The part I do care about is that both of you are constantly in these types of threads and just down playing other people's enthousiasm.
Check the Halo 4 news thread if you want some proof.

I'm fine with people not liking a franchise or wanting to discuss a game and give criticism based on their experience with it but both of you guys are just fishing for some reactions here...

Yeah, she was cold.

So i've just given in and watched a little snippet from one of the middle cut-scenes in halo 4 and wow!, fans of the fiction / novels ect... are going to get a real kick out of some of these amazing cut-scenes..... and the graphics are insane.

The characters have well-written dialogue, but there’s very little context and set-up for much of what’s said. If you want to know who’s who, what’s what, and why’s why, you’ll want to study up on expanded universe material like The Forerunner Saga by Greg Bear. This could be an issue for less-invested players, as I found myself explaining important plot points to Ben as we played through the game together. He had played the previous games, but had not read the books, and was often lost by the plot.
I was afraid of this. I have no desire whatsoever to read anything about this Forerunner nonsense. Other than that everything else in the PA review sounds good if you're only in it for the SP.

For a web made production its great, after episode 1 the rest are excellent, but it wont get you upto speed on the universe, for that either watch the cutscenes of previous halo games or read up on the lore.

Yeah, the stories of Halo games themselves were always easy to follow.

Go to Point A blow this up, go to point B blow that up, go to point A again and blow them up...

I enjoyed all Halos so far, but only from them games, you have no idea of the context of the universe.

I might pick up some of the books if the story in Halo 4 is well executed and interessting.

Raptor loves to butt in on conversations about games he's never played and has no intention of playing. I'd love to see more balanced reviews, but that guy ranted about "getting with the times," which apparently includes adding ADS to Halo. Yeah, that's a great idea. He just wants 343 to roll even harder into the "borrowed" game design. Not that they've shown much of any resistance to that to begin with.

Not that I put much stock in metacritic anyway.
