In addition to GriftGFX's comment, with which I fully concur, here is my problem with it. The idea of making MP maps out of campaign resources was so that less resources were required to create the maps for multiplayer. Some how though, this has translated to less* map variety, not more. This does not jive with signing off with Reach as the "definitive" and "best" Halo game.

Halo 3 shipped with 11 maps, one of which was a remake and that was nowhere near enough, especially when you factored in the beta. They did however, at least create 10 brand new maps for us to enjoy, seven of which were new to beta players. Even then however, map selection got pretty samey and the Heroic pack couldn't come soon enough for most people.

Not only is Reach going to ship with less new maps but the problem is compounded by the way it will be compartmentalised. Even if Invasion has had all the work it needed to be a compelling offering, they're going to launch that game type with just Spire and Boneyard? We've played one, to mixed reviews and Spire is very vertically orientated. Where is the campaign/big-team-battle esque experiences going to come from? Even if it's great, Invasion will be greatly diminished within weeks which will just mean they'll support it less.

To an extent, the same is going to apply to the Arena players. The Invasion maps are out for them so the breakdown for them will be Zealot, Boardwalk and Countdown as genuinely new maps, Reflection as a remake, Powerhouse and Swordbase as beta maps, two original Forge World creations and three remakes. Sounds a lot, but only five of those will be genuinely new content for beta players. You already know the beta maps will get veto'd the hell out of at first. There is definitely a potential for things to get samey, Forge World or not Forge World.

As a Halo fan, I want new content. Reach is the last Bungie Halo, supposedly the definitive one, the biggest one, three years in the making by probably the largest dev team which for the first time made a (great) decision to create dual purpose spaces to save resources. There should not even be the merest issue with regard to traditional multiplayer content. The thing that has sustained this game for years. Not if they want to be held to such high standards.

Regardless of whether you agree with me or not, there is a lot of chatter about this either way. It shouldn't even be a matter of debate. My concern is that MP gets stale too quickly. I played a lot less Halo 3 than Halo 2 and consider the map selection at launch a factor in that.

Amidst all this, could they really only find it within them to pull out seven spaces in the campaign for MP? God help them if the DLC is based on campaign locations as well.

This is a little bit of an off topic question, but did Adam Baldwin play Dutch in the Legends episode "The Babysitter"? He's Dutch in ODST and it sounded *just like him*, but IMDB doesn't seem to know, and seeing as they didn't even get Master Chief's actor on board it seems in doubt.

As a big fan of Firefly, and with that entire cast being in ODST, I can pretty much pinpoint those people wherever, but it's driving me nuts that I don't know for sure in this case.
