Probably demo issue?

I thought the sound was good, the footsteps was nothing I cared for, after so much rusty zippers grinding from Infamous 1 I was glad to not hear anything lol.
But they need some sort of a shoe footsteps which this one didnt.

They will probably patch it in or something.
i hope so. i mean, there IS ambient sounds, even footsteps. but you can only hear then when in VERY close proximity and even then it's VERY quiet. like cars for example, they make a "engine" noise, but you have to be 2 ft away to actually hear it, so if you're stood on a low roof, looking down at the traffic below, you hear NOTHING. its the most silent game i've ever played. and it just murders the atmosphere. when shits going down the game sounds great, music is awesome. explosions sound loud and punchy, attacks sound decent, but when nothing is going on, it's such a sterile soundscape. like you've accidently muted your TV

Well I was having so much fun with good volume I didnt notice much of it, lol.

But I will try and notice more of the sound next time I play, lets hope they patch it, because sound and music if very important in games, so they shouldnt lack it.

Nearing the end of infamous 1, just a few more missions left. The Ray Sphere mission was INCREDIBLE!! Awesome platforming, haven't played a game like this in years!

I didn't expect much initially since I hated Sly Cooper 2 but this game redeems Sucker Punch, I can't wait to pick up infamous 2 :D

edit: I wish Sucker Punch would port this over to the PC, the tech is really good but obviously not optimized at all for PS3 (as shown by infamous 2). Looking over the city from the Ray Sphere tower with the really good depth of field effect <3.

yup, best game on PS3 by far. I love the platforming bits in this game too much, haven't played a platformer like this in years

I think I am going to buy the Sly collection after I beat Infamous 1 & witcher 2, I heard sly 1 was really good so I need to play that. I want infamous 2 really bad but the prices of games these days are such a freaking rip off!! $60 for 1 game...come on man! I bought witcher 2 for $39.99 brand new and its a top of the line game that takes over 30 hours to beat.

These console publishers need to get real....who wants to pay $60 in these bad economic times?

The problem of course is that they are spending $20 million to make he games so the only way to cover the costs and make a profit is to charge $60 or more.

Been playing it a bit now and I am loving it so much, leaps more appealing and polished than inFamous 1.

One thing I didnt know was that you can press left on the d-pad and then your button layout for the powers show up.
If you unlocked various powers for like zapping, grenades...etc. has each button.

For example the regular zap with R1 is like one lightning ball.
But if you buy another alternate that shoots 3, you can anytime during gameplay hold left on the d-pad and then press R1 to switch from the single zap to the 3 multiple lightning zaps.

Same goes with grenades which is on SQUARE.
Regular is a explosion, but I bought one that when you throw it stuns the enemy.

So what I do is I choose the stun grenade, then quickly presson the left button, press SQUARE to swap to explosion and throw the explosion grenade and then go in for the melee kills.

Basically its kind of like Ninja Gaiden 2 were you press on the d-pad and a mini menu show up and freezes the game so you can swap, but here you can swap various powers depending on the buttons.

No wonder why I saw videos were Cole had one Vortex move and all of a sudden he has thunder strike move.

Great job Sucker Punch!

PS. Korndog...the sound is damn low sometimes!
I got a message for a update but I have no idea what that it did, but the sound is low sometimes and sometimes its high. Patch would be nice.

I just finished the first game (thanks Sony for the free game), was awesome. Dat ending, made me want get infamous 2 now, but i will wait until i can get it cheaper.

Will replay the first game, and go the *evil* route, seems worth it, powers seem to be quite diffrent.

I have played ALOT now, and even went with Kuo with ice power, its great.
That ice launch, best thing yet to get around the world.

But there are some stuff i really hate about this game.

The mutants that comes at you, digs under the ground and spits acid, its impossible to take them out unless you spam the cars, if lucky hit.
I know they got body shield but its like they are imune to Cole's power. I have died so many times of random crap were it rushes to me, no animation was done to hit me but i get hit before it so I couldnt dodge away.
Worse is near the freaking water, felt like Altair a few times lol

But once I got the Ionic Ice almost every health is gone with some minor left which can be easily done with ice grenades.
Hit them underneath their body so ice power is the only thing or cars.

Other thing I also hate is that giant mutant, its acid balls coming is pure garbage, the distance and the damage radius is stupid IMO, even if you are good enough away from it you get hit and then the rest of them will keep hitting you with the same nonsense, almost impossible to get away if you arent super far.
And if you are hit and fall down you keep getting hit.
The health for Cole is VERY low, he can barely stay alive with a few shots, let alone the mutant attacks, they should have given him more health.
I am playing on Medium.

And the climbing, dear god its almost as bad as Assassins Creed.
The automatic magnet Cole does is dumb.
If you are quite far from the wall Cole will grab on, game will guide his body close to it even though you DONT want him to grab anything, pissed me off many times that i had to keep tapping O for him to let go instantly.

Another thing is Cole doesnt go where I control him, especially those electric wall poles were he can zap up.
I dont get it, thats one of the most important thing to movement for cole to have the game to guide Cole to grab on to but now its almost impossible for him to do it at all unless you have him directly towards it which is very screwed up.

Basically, the climbing is pure garbage in this game and damn boring to do.

I saw both Kuo and Nix was flying/teleporting with help of their powers and Kuo got her powers recently for god sakes, yet the bullshit Cole cant do a damn thing like that, pissed me off seeing both of the girls teleport so awesomely all over the place and using there powers, looked like Nightcrawler from X-Men 2 and I loved that.

I am glad both Kuo and Nix have some sort of a dash/launch power to lend Cole for faster travel, but Kuo's is more up distance then forward, and Nix seems to have that awesome phoenix flame.

Cole, a guy who is mainly a electricity man, a element that is suppose to be the fastest element that is like a blinking eye, can't teleport or dash with help of his electricity power? Cole not having that power is just a big freaking screw up by Sucker Punch, while characters like Kuo that has ice and Nix as fire has it?
Doesnt make any sense.
I dont understand why they keep Cole's movement so freaking nerfed! Sure I appreciate how fast he runs now, but come on, every fan would love lightning dash like Kessler or that minion in Infamous 1, so awesome.
Well fans who have good imagination with powers.

Ah well, overal, its a big improvement and ALOT of fun (except those enemy issues crap and Cole's health).

this game is awesome. loving it to bits so far. traversal is perfect now, since it's retained a lot of the fun that was found in the first game but you're not as sticky anymore when traversing the environment, so getting nice, clean, fast lines across the city is much easier, you no longer grab onto crap you dont want to. enemies are more fun to fight too (various mutants) and so far it's been a decent, but non-frustrating challenge playing on the hard difficulty setting. (and they adressed my sound issues too, music and ambient sounds stop it sounding too silent)

not had any issues with the tunnelling acid spitting enemies like sath has, i just spam nades and it takes em out in no time. they're really fun to fight tho, since there is a little bit more to them stratagy wise.

i think sath needs to get a bit better at the game (he hasnt had the first game for practice). i mean, im playing on hard and i havnt had any issues with cole being too weak. sure he can't take a TON of damage (game would be far too easy if he could), but i havnt come across any of the issues you've had with some of the enemies, and surely the game is easier on medium, which you're playing it on?

so far so good for me personally. very similar to the first game (good thing), which as far as open world games go, pretty much nailed it. tons to do as well. spent pretty much all day messing about with the UGC stuff, some of the levels people have made are awesome. reaper skin is pure badassery and fits my evil playthrough perfectly and even shows up in the cutscenes (non comic) too.

You sure as hell get stuck and grab stuff you dont want to constantly during walls or grabbing and you want to let go and fall all the way down. You have to take a good dinstance from any object close to Cole so the game doesnt automatically guide Cole to grab stuff or be on top of stuff.
There should be a button were you can tap so Cole can grab on to something manually because its a bitch to force him not to do it when you want to just skip anything below him to hit the ground. Besides, its not like he is from AC or something were he dies from a few feet (thank god).
Especially when you are on the roof and the militia is in a alley and you want to jump but there is a chance if you jump straight down Cole will automatically grab on something, unless you hold square to pound the ground.

I even got stuck on a small piece of metal that is like 10 inches from the ground and Cole was stuck and could move until I had to jump.

Also, which grenade type do you use to take them out "in no time"?
I have tried everything and the ice grenade seems to be the one that actually does something properly.

But like I said, overal its a great game over the first one because if it wasent I wouldnt have played it as much as I have now compared to the first.

Its just that the sticky stuff he does is annoying, though I LOVE the ice launch, if only I could get the hook so I could do some Batman zipping lol

beat infamous 1!! man that ending was SOOO EPIC!! Reminded me of the epic "twist" in Knights of the Old Republic. What a wonderful game this!! I cannot wait to buy infamous 2 :)

i really dont get the stickyness anymore, not to degree of infamous 1 at any rate. it happens every once and a while, but i cole generally does what i want him to, makes for a much more fluid movement system. i can even hang and drop down to the ground froma multi-story building withouth latching onto anything. he just doesnt seem to be a drawn to stuff as he was in the first. much better now, but i liked the first anyway.

as for the acid spitters, i use the standard grenade or evil coles double grenade (explodes on impact, and detonates a secondary explosion) both work well. get your timing right (pretty much got it down pegged now) you can kill them in seconds. dont really have any trouble with them, same with all enemies really. non have really gotten the better of me yet.

Thing is, these creatures started appearing before you got any of the girls powers, so you had to work with whatever Cole originally had and the explosive grenades are really weak towards them, even sticky grenade.

Besides one thing i forgot is, i dont like that even normal electricity shooting, his normal shooting, drains energy now which is very weird and a nerf decision were in infamous 1 you could keep going forever without worrying about losing energy slots.

i like that everything drains power personally. makes combat much more strategic. in the first game you always had a freakishly powerfull default attack that never drained power. making the game really easy even on hard. i like that the power points across the city where you re-charge are much more vital to survival now. sometimes you have to retreat and charge up unlike the first game where you barely needed to at all. in the first game you always had this devistating "basic" zap attack. you never felt like you needed to use anything more.

seriously hooked on the UGC levels tho. there are tons of them, and a majority that i've played a pretty decent.

can't get enough of that reaper skin tho. sure it's hiding a lot of details seen on default cole, but man it looks awesome.

I am surprised by the graphics in this game. The object detail is very high hence the minimal pop ups. Man they optimized the crap out of this engine!! I CANNOT wait to pick this up! COME ON PRICE DROPPP!!!

They should have used Cole Drake IMO, best design until nerds kept complaining as hell to redesign him back...basically generic buzzcut look *sigh*

The voice doesnt bother me, the first game...now that bothered me.
Any voice that is like Snake and similair, bothers me. Its the voice I call "soar throat with an badass attitude" lol

But after playing it more and really trying to get the hang of Cole and the distance from objects, I think its fine now.

at least there was some sort of noise when moving around tho. the demo is deathly silent even when moving at full sprint next to cars and pedestrians, and while the full game has music and some slight ambient noise. it's still incredibly quiet. i'd rather have an "annoying" noise then non at all personally. i just hope SP patch the game with more "stuff" to fill the soundscape.
