Damn. That man must have nads of steel. Literally. I don't think there's a cup or pad in the world that'd stop her if she missed the training gear.

She is a beast. But that guy was up to my elbows and I'm not even 6'. Also, JET PACKS!

Kick Ass was so over the top. The guy is using a Jet pack towards the end. A jet pack. A FUCKING JET PACK!

And Hit Girl totally destroyed any expectations of realism well before that scene. 9yr old girls cannot beat up 6'5" men.
Kick Ass is just awesome. Just awesome :)

Garden state...heard really good things about it, but thought it was a pretty by the numbers romcom. Granted it had dark circumstances for braffs character being the way he was. But it was just a cliche'd romantic comedy, complete with "gets off the plane at the last minute to be with the girl" ending. Just seemed contrived. Music was above average tho. But braff has the emotional depth of a puddle. It's like he went to the same school as matthew perry to learn how to be emotional...basically have your voice break a bit and sound wet as fuck...lame.

The trailer wasn't that great anyway, Imo. Guy on a boat, kid wearing a red blanket, superman flying into space. Oh, and Lord of the Rings music.

Dark Knight Rises was excellent.

Ended up seeing TDKR since all my mates ehere going, despite my gut feeling after seeing the trailers...and it was a "OK" movie. It fit thematically, felt like a nolan batman film. But it was over long, and often time overly boring. Hathaway was a TERRIBLE "catwoman", but i knew that from the trailers. What i wasn't fully expecting was just how uninteresting and rediculous sounding bane was going to be. He had such an imposing figure, but sounded like a bad sherlock holmes villain. Didn't fit, sounded stupid, was laughing my ass of at the opening plane scene because of his voice. Didn't think i could hate a voice as much as batmans but bane topped it, it's stupid. Speaking of batman. Bale did a much better job in the roll as bruce then he has previously, but as batman he got worse, and generally more boring to watch. Over-relience on "the bat". Barely any gliding or gadget use. He just seemed lame as batman. And the end when he goes into all out "bark" mode...again, laughing my head off in the cinema.

SPOILERS

The build up to the end was good tho, it just never really reached the creshendo you was hoping for. The fight with bane was pretty lame, wasn't as epic as i hoped, levitts character finding the batcave and being called FUCKING ROBIN was just retarded, i'd rather they just had him find the cave and close to the end credits, why call him robin? I didn't like the "happy ever after" scene with alfred in the cafe either (although all prior scenes with alfred where well done and genuinely emotional)

Definately the worst batman movie for me. Story quality wise it was about the same as dark knight, but without the screen stealing presence of an awesome villain (joker) bane and catwoman where just so boring in comparisson to joker.

In all honesty, the best thing about going to see the film was the superman trailer, and that's coming from someone who thinks supe's is an overpowered POS character...i'm honestly happy nolan and bale are done with the series. They've gotten worse as they went on imo. Begins is still my fave of the 3. And the second wouldn't have even been worth watching if it wasn't for joker. The third? Just isn't worth watching. I own the first 2 on blu ray, i wont be picking up the third.

Batman was amazing overall, some parts super amazing, a couple quibbles knock the entire package down to just amazing. Hathaway was a great choice for Catwoman. I liked the twists as well as the "hints" laced throughout the movie. And I was sad to see the story arch end.

Who here is surprised Korn despised it?

The only thing about the film looking back at it now that is kinda weak is how time moves at the end of the film. The way Bane brings Bruce all the way back to that prison and comes back to Gotham immediately. Generally how time moves over the whole course of the bombs activation is sloppy feeling.

Sadly due to these requirements i don't like any movies...ever...

As I said in the what's up box: The location change was really jarring. There were a lot of superhero/action movie cliches thrown about too, but it didn't really bother me. Overall, I liked it, and I think they did a pretty good job tying all three films together.

The Avengers was better. The Cabin In The Woods was better. So far Batman is around #3.

I can't tell if the posts above me are jokes or not. They're pretty believable.

The humour didnt fit in TDKR either. Like when "catwoman" disapears off the rooftop and batman turns and says "so that's what that feels like' in his stupid batman voice, despite no-one else being there to hear him...urgh.

#1. That WAS funny. Have you never done something to others in real life and then, surprisingly, had the tables turned on you? Likewise have you ever been in a very tense environment and then something happened that caused a moment of reflection, maybe even humorous, that for a short moment changes the mood? #2. He didn't know where she went, she could be hiding. He is "in character" and the voice is to hide his identity. If he just started babbling in his real voice and was overheard (Selena knows Bruce Wayne) it could blow his disguise.

I personally thought it fit well (I liked the light moments in Batman Begins as well; I like the gritty more founded world but the real world is a mix of all sorts of emotions. I thought TDK leaned far too much toward sadistic and grim and lacked this element). I don't want campy or cheesy but after doing the disheartening act a good number of times on others it seems he "met his match" in Catwoman and, as I view TDKR as a more introspective on Bruce Wayne than Batman, I thought it was a nod toward the man behind the Batman persona giving us some sincere insight. It was a very "Bruce" moment -- light hearted with a touch of humor.

It really wasn't. It was almost as bad as the kiss with catwoman despite there being a big fucking bomb about to go off. Considering the theme of the third movie, and its serious tone. I didn't feel there was any room for humour or cheese...just made those moments stick out like a sore thumb when they sadly DID happen.

Saw TDKR yesterday, awesome movie, this is the reason you go see a movie in the movietheaters!

The movie was long, but never boring. Story was great (although I can agree on Tinks argument about the flow of time at the end of the movie).
I also digged the ending. Felt like the perfect end for a great trilogy.

It's not the film's fault you don't have a sense of humour.

I agree with Tinks about the time issue, that aspect could have been executed better. But the overall plot had clarity and was compelling - one of Nolan's best storylines for me, and did a great job of tying the trilogy together.

And the film was so awesome that I'm seeing it again tonight! Will be interesting to watch it again knowing what the twist is, so I can see if there are any subtle hints in there.

The part of the story with the slight twist was weird within that whole time issue. I noticed it pretty straight away. Bruce enters the court room after being "apprehended" by Catwoman I believe? Anyway, Talia is there when he gets set free with everyone else. They never explain why Talia isn't with them after that scene and she just stays behind and is later seen with Bane for the twist plot to carry out. Tell me if you see it when you rewatch blm

I'd say out of all the Batman films this was the least coherent story wise. I think that's because Nolan wanted to really satiate people with all their favorite characters before closing things out, sacrificing story in favor of it.
I do place it high alongside the 2nd one though.
For me though they don't touch Nolan's films Memento and Inception

I think I know which scene you're referring to. Bruce only goes in there to free Lucius Fox so that he can take control of the reactor, and tells Miranda Tate/Talia that he can't free her yet. So when they get set free Talia is actually still in the hospice area. It's something along those lines anyway, I can't quite remember despite seeing it for the second time last night haha.
