I watched Quantum of Solace again tonight with my dad. He hadn't seen it yet. It's a bit easier to follow the second time through but boy is it a bit of a clusterfuck. I still really enjoyed it though.

And Olga Korylenko.. still just striking.

I watched 3:10 last night. That neck stabbing scene is one of the most disturbing things I've seen in a while. I'm not sure what it was about it, but it fucking weirded me out. Awesome movie though.

Couldn't agree more. When I watched it in the cinema, I was pretty much thinking 'what the fuck is going on?' throughout. But, watching it for a second time on DVD, I got a better idea of what was actually going on.

Still not as good as Casino Royale though.

I haven't seen it yet.. and I feel like I've failed nerd school. I love Star Trek too. Shame on me. That said, it is a JJ Abrams film, so I can't really blame anyone for not understanding it. I love his shit, but he has a habbit of trying to go above our heads.

Don't worry LOST, I still credit most of your awesomeness to Lindeloff and Cuse.

We need to get a Lost discussion on the go. There is probably a thread from like 3 years ago or something. I can't be assed to check.

Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

It was pretty terrible. Also pretty funny. Way too little shark eating stuff though, the trailer was misleading. I had a hard time deciding if it was deliberately cheesy or if they actually were serious but well...i watched it, laughed and now i'm done with it :)

Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus
LOL

I saw a clip of this on youtube that had me rolling on the floor. It was so fucking horrible that it actually made me want to see the full picture. What the fuck is wrong with the Sci-fi (sorry, SyFy) channel? How can they produce awesome originals like Battlestar Galactica, and then turn around and churn out shit like this?

Hilarious.

edit: Oh, my bad.. Sci-fi didn't produce it. Oh well. My point still stands, it's exactly the kind of thing they would pump money into!

Lorenzo Lamas.... LOL

How are you guys just now finding about how much of a shitfest movies are on Sci Fi? They have movies about oversized tigers on the rampage, giant snakes or alligators terrorizing people, all in horrific looking cg depictions.

If you can't see the enormous potential of entertainment in a title like Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus then i just don't know what to say. Cheesy shark-eating-air-planes action is all the entertainment i need, unfortunately this particular film had a bit too little of that.

I also watched this like a month ago, i just forgot to mention. It's a real Swedish classic. Especially pay attention to the sublime acting of Harald Treutiger ;)

Please!

I saw Terminator Salvation last night and I actually liked it. I literally went just to be company to my friend who was stoked to see it, and I genuinely thought I'd be bored stiff. I really had no desire to "see more of the future stuff from T1 and T2" because the reason I loved those movies had nothing to do with that - on the contrary everything to do with not that stuff specifically. Sure, Salvation is kinda straightforward action movie fare, but it's more clever than at least I thought it would be and it has some really good action in it. And it has scenes! With people saying stuff! I thought it would be one big, dark, testosterone filled stream of people barking and shooting robots.

I also saw Wolverine and Star Trek a while back, it's been a cinemalicious summer so far. Wolverine was painfully average, and I thought it missed every available opportunity to be interesting. It was the synopsis of wolverine's backstory made into a movie with no edits. Hugh Jackman is a hugely attractive person and pulls off the wolvie look better than ever, but he's stuck in a movie that takes itself 100% seriously and falls into the pit of inconsequential fighting over and over and over again.

Star Trek was SUPERB. There's a cameo from I-dunno-if-you-know-so-I-won't-say-who that nearly breaks the fourth wall and says HELLO THERE AUDIENCE, POPCORN TASTY?, but it's so overwhelmingly good apart from that so it never becomes an issue. The best movie I've seen at the theaters so far this summer. Drag me to hell and Transformers 2 coming up next I think.

Eh, I refuse to watch Terminator: Salvation. No Arnie means it isn't Terminator in my opinion, so I couldn't see it being anything other than disappointing if I watch it - plus I've read some pretty... harsh reviews. I could try and watch it without taking into account the fact that it's technically a Terminator film, but I'd find that a difficult thing to do.

Speaking of which, I really need to see T2 again. Man, what a film.

But yes, looking forward to Transformers 2. I haven't seen the first one yet - despite having it on DVD! - but I've heard good things.

Yeah, transformers 2 on the 23d. Gotta go see it, even though as i've said a number of times already; it'll suck as a movie but that point is moot once you see the effects and action.
