I don't think it would have skewed my opinion of the movie much, it's just an observation. The faux documentary presentation is getting a little dry, and there's not a lot in terms of character development. There's a little, sure, but the movie basically runs on action and the build up to the climax just isn't as intense as they probably wanted it to be. I did enjoy it, but maybe I was hoping for a little more.

I watched District 9 last night. It was alright.. maybe a little overhyped though.
Have to disagree with you here, I thought it's whole was greater than the sum of its parts.

Watched No Country For Old Men. I don't know what everyone else thought of it but, in my opinion, it was kinda poo.

It wasn't poo...not even close... but you're allowed to dislike it.

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. I quite liked them nothing great, but it wasn't very horrible. Johnny Depp was awesome though :)

No Country for old Men was fucking awesome.

Good acting from Cigurh, decent killing scenes, but some pretty dull dialogue in parts and an absolutely abysmal ending.

Watched Fanboys out of curiosity yesterday. Was ok, a bit too cliché but I had a laugh nonetheless.

It's one of my favourite movies. I remember seeing in theatres for the first time because the movie I wanted to see was sold out... I hadn't even heard about it... I absolutely loved it. I though the girl who played Mercedes was a fucking fox.

I just watched Avatar in Imax 3d. The first time was in a normal theater and 3d. It made a huge difference. The movie is even more beautiful in Imax which I was pleasantly surprised by.

Agreed. I still liked it though. I just can't stand it when I hate the main character all the way up to the last five minutes. You've got to admit, though, that the weapons were awesome!...

Nothing wrong with the main character IMO, this movie did just fine without Hollywood talent poking around.

He's not being critical of the actor, he's talking about the character. The performance was fine, it was the script that's suspect.

Yup. I can't stand that character. He had no redeemable qualities until the very end. He was nervous, jittery, an asshole who thought only of himself. I would have like to see more of the alien scientist and his son...

got about 30 minutes through Clerks and had to shut it off.

Also saw Brokeback Mountain which was definitely worth seeing.

I take that back. I was too tired to hear all that dialogue.
Popped it back in this morning and thought it was pretty funny.

It's definitely got an indy/student/low budget sorta feel to it. The acting is sub par, the directing is rough, but it is Kevin Smith's first big break through, and the writing is spectacular.
