Yup. I can't stand that character. He had no redeemable qualities until the very end. He was nervous, jittery, an asshole who thought only of himself. I would have like to see more of the alien scientist and his son...
That's kind of the point no?

Well not really a movie: I watched the first episode of Spartacus, Blood and Sand...
What a fucking waste of my time... It's got bad acting, cheesy lines, and tries to hide it with some naked women.
And although most men will be able to stand this kind of stuff if there's at least one thing appealing in between... Well even the CGI blood sucks..
What a total waste of a great story...

Ohh wait I forgot to mention it's dialog consists of mostly swearing that doesn't really help convincing you this is during roman times. For example: "Those fucking cunts" or the "That man has got fingers in all the proper assholes"

Yes I'm not kidding it's that bad...

Bah...I'm disappointed to hear that as I was looking forward to it. I'll still give it a chance though. Maybe it gets better?

Watched Legion a couple nights ago. Garbage. I like Paul Bettany, and I have a fascination with angels kicking ass, but this movie bombed hard.

I saw the stench of shit from that movie a mile away. Not even going to bother regardless of how tempting the concept is.

I'd easily watch The Ugly Truth and The Proposal again over Gamer.

The guy in The Proposal is Ryan Reynolds. He's awesome. I have a man crush on him.

I had smoked way too much pot during The Hangover. During the parts I was conscious it was really run of the mill and dull.
And, what's this "Gamer"?
I'll have to look into it, though your reaction doesn't instill any hope.

I just watched A Nightmare on Elm Street, of which the full version I hadn't seen since it came out on VHS (lols). Great as ever. None of the sequels even come close.

There is this one part where she falls a couple floors behind a rose bush, and you can see the air cushion billowing from the weight. Lame directing there.
You might think to yourself "this is just intentional" because of the general unbelievability of the movie but, no, it's just a slack cut.
Craven should be ashamed.

I watched The Hangover two times. The first time I thought that it's the funniest film in a long while, the second time it was one of the dullest, for the same reasons (pot). Same thing happened with A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Okay this has nothing to do with a movie I saw recently but I need to put it here....
Since when does remaking a movie involves movies that have been released like 2-3 years ago?

I'm talking about Death at a funeral...
This was originally a British comedy and now after 2 years they are "remaking" it into an American version.. But you should read "remaking" as copying because they took the exact same script including the jokes and threw some Afro-American actors in it... Not that I have a problem with the actors because they are good in their own right, but new version is just a fucking copy of the original.
For whoever has seen the original, check out the trailer of the "remake" here:

Senseless.

blah. It wasn't totally unworth watching, but I wouldn't call it hit on the board either.

All about some French people taking an American hostage and torturing him, without cause.
woopdeedoo.

senseless? I'd more call it worthless.

(btw, it's called Senseless because they go town on his 5 senses one by one. It's really not worth your time)

I don't know, I haven't heard of half the remakes until they are remade, then I think they are good movies.

Then people complain.

That's kind of the point no?
I can understand what they were going for, but I really HATED that guy to the point where I didn't want him to become likable. I think they could have done it different. You know, add SOME kind of quality that pops out now and then but becomes stronger before the last 10 minutes. I loved the concept of the movie, and I loved the alien dad. The weapons were the best weapons I've seen in a long time...

Indeed. There's a ton of good-to-great remakes. "Remakes are dumb," is a dumb generalization.
