Cool, will try it then. :)

I generally like Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Watched Ocean's Thirteen the other day, it was fun. Nothing majorly impressive or 'clever', just plain and 'simple' entertainment. :)

It'll be a different movie then you'll expect from seeing those 2 in, but I thought it was pretty funny!

Didn't watch any of the Halo Waypoint short thingers until yesterday when I watched Halo: Legends. Aside from maybe a minute or two of cool shit, I was pretty much in agony the rest of the time. If it wasn't poorly written(translated?) melodrama, it was garbage comedy that is a huge reason why a good deal of anime is inaccesible to me. My roommate and I each had pillows infront of our faces for most of it to conceal our mutual shame and embarrassment.

The mech's insta-bubble shield was fucking badass though.

Yeah I watched Halo Legends as well recently. It is really terrible. Compared to Animatrix this is really garbage.

The first segment looks like it has PAINT DAUBS filter all over it. Makes you go WTF certainly.
None of it is impressive at all

It really just looked like they were trying to hide some shitty cg by barfing that filter all over it.

I thought it was funny. Very "droog" as they say in the Netherlands. ;)

I loved the scenes where the CIA dude reports to his superiour.

Just watched The Book of Eli. As expected, very entertaining fights, good setting but the story was weak.

Watched Solomon Kane today. The beginning and ending were mediocre really, but everything else in between was actually very, very good.

Seemed like a better version of Van Helsing.

Apparently I'm watching Avatar in 3d later today, against my will.

It had better be good or I'll just not care anymore.

My Father kept raving about the seed pods or something? I don't know.

Well, most of us enjoyed it, for what it's worth. I wouldn't mind seeing it in 3D again while it's still possible.

I saw Shutter Island last night. It was very good, but not quite as compelling as The Departed (or The Aviator). But that's just my nasty habit of needing to compare films made by the same director and cast.

I don't know if I can bare it a second time. And I haven't even seen it yet.

I guess if you knew my companions, you'd say the same.

Was Shutter Island creepy? If not no bother.

Yea, it was a little creepy, a good psychological thriller. I guess you could call it that. It gets a little confusing towards the final act which is actually to its credit. I started to question what was real and what wasn't and that was pretty neat. I love Martin Scorsese though, and while I wouldn't call it one of my favorite films, it was definitely a good picture. I liked it.

Well, taking some inspiration from you die hard theater goers, I saw Avatar in 3-d today (everyone there was very well behaved).
Gotta say it was quite the experience. Not a single thing I didn't like about it, in fact I'm still trying to pick up my jaw.

I noticed the story progression is eerily similar to Dances With Wolves.
Only Avatar doesn't drop your attention in the slightest.

Yeah, the Dances With Wolves connection has been discussed and debated to death. I also think it's thematically very simular to the anime Princess Mononoke.

I don't think there's anything to debate really. It's almost identical minus the high tech properties.

Well I guess the debate is more over how much originality really matters. There are very few truly original ideas in my opinion, so it's a wash.

Bah, it was a passing realization. If I had known everyone had been over it before I wouldn't have brought it up.

Consider it over.

I hear ya.. to most it was more of a criticism than an observation is all. A lot of people seem to take up issue with both too. I've heard a lot of nonsense about how it's a white man's guilt picture.

Yeah, I'll probably look up some B rate horror movie tonight on Netflix.

I could use a good time.

I just noticed that Pans Labyrinth is on the Netflix Watch Instantly bullshit. I should watch that again.

I do wish they had slightly more movies to stream, but I still enjoy the service. I do hate how crappy the quality of the silverlight player is compared to the Xbox player. It makes watching Netflix on my PC pointless.

Wolfman is a pass. Built a great setting, but about 20mins into the movie you could start predicting each and every turn. Nothin special there.

yep, it's balls, but if you have a decent connection and you watch non graphic oriented movies, you're in style.
(You should have seen it before they went Silverlight; it was a mess)

For instance, I just got done watching Let the Right One In.

I've never seen a vampire movie like that ever before. It's like a love story or something. Really pulls at the heart strings.

[edit]
about Netflix again:
I'd appreciate it more if they didn't read your connection speed, and just give you the option of a buffer length.

They are so concernced with "as fast as possible" crap that if you don't have a fiber optic or cable connection, you're stuck with low quality crap.

Honestly, I don't mind a two minute buffer if it's the difference between crap and good. JUST GIVE ME THE OPTION, NETFLIX!
(I've actually emailed them about this but they say they are concerned with customer service.. um HELLO!)
