Well, the quality on the Xbox is about a billion times better on the same connection, so I think they throttle PC users anyway. Not only is the quality much worse, but the player has some screen tearing too. Yuck.

That's like an exact remake of a spanish film called REC. I haven't seen Quarantine but REC was fucking great.

Yeah, too bad the rest of the movie was boring :p
Being the Halo fanboy that I am, I bought Halo:Legends... What have I done? What have they done? Why is every Spartan a girl or comic relief? Why does every anime have to be so corny? Gotta love all the pseudo-philosophy. "Could you do something for me.... could you just...*gasp*... be human?" Now I remember why I don't watch any anime outside of Myazaki. Why does every soldier look like a teenage punk-rocker?...

Anime is rarely corny if you're smart about it. Halo Legends is a terrible example of anime. It looks like the west trying to do another Animatrix but failing horribly with too much cgi.

If you're smart about it? If you mean by avoiding 95% of it, then sure, I could see that.

That's funny 'cause I thought it looked like Japan butchering what could have been a cool opportunity.

But..but...the cheese is intentional...so that makes it good! And you just don't "get it" if you don't like it... or so I've heard that reason parroted enough that it must be true!

Precisely. I find the cheese in DMC and Bayonetta nauseating. Getting that it's supposed to be cheesy doesn't suddenly make it palatable.

I'm kind of the opposite; haven't seen the original.
Though I wouldn't call Quarantine great, just unexpectedly good. I really thought it was going to completely blow.

I was let down by Inglorious Basterds. Too long, and focused on the wrong characters. The "hunter" character was a very interesting character, though. Absolutely messed up!...

I think Legends is a perfect example of the majority of anime :P The CG portions were some of the best parts, although I can't fathom why the Elites are dressed like Samuri( Samuri inspired is one thing, but they don't even bother designing something different. Straight up Japan). The Pseudo-psychology is nauseating. There is nothing Western about it. The' Odd Man Out' was ridiculous. The best episodes were the first two...

It was full of good messed up characters. The Bear Jew made me laugh, not the character himself, but how the Nazis imagined him.

Actually there is a lot of good anime out there. You just have to be willing to make the effort to avoid the crap.

And how do you make the effort? Research? Read reviews? Most people reviewing anime seem to be fans of it in all its forms, and as a result, I've been tricked into watching some shitty anime. How else should one go about making an effort to avoid the crap?

I absolutely loved it. Good ol' revenge with a slight twist that didn't cause any holes. Interesting choice of characters to either root for or against as well.

Hell even at the ending I was rooting for Gerald Butler's character :-D

The same way you find a good book or movie. You watch them. You find good companies, animators, authors, etc.
