It's not that disturbing. The kid is just signalling to the director that he's gotta take a piss.
That's what he wants you to think.

Just watched 9.

Visually a stunning movie and I really enjoyed it..
I do feel they dropped the ball on the story though, could've used a deeper character exploration on all of the "stitchpunks"... Felt a little clichéd at times...
But an entertaining movie non-the-less..

I thought there was an obvious route the story could have taken....but it went some other direction that resulted in some pseudo-technoparanormal nonsense that ruined it for me. Oh, and I found it kinda boring. That ruined it for me too.

Watched Alice in Wonderland just now in 3D. Horrible movie. Came in and expected some crazy story that doesn't even make sense, got LotR.

That actually makes me more inclined to see it. I never really liked Alice in Wonderland as it was completely direcionless.

Wut? I loved it. It was beautiful and the story wasn't incredible but it was far from horrible. There are some serious hiccups here and there, but it didn't damage my enjoyment of the movie. It was basically a sequel of sorts to Disney's original cartoon adaptation. Not as great as it could have been, and perhaps not even very good, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

And I appreciated each one of Alice's costume changes :)

Oh, and the 3D was executed far more competently than I had anticipated.

LoTR? LOL.

First half of Alice was pretty crappy, but then it got up to speed and after i'd seen it all i think it was an alright movie. Not incredible but entertaining and worth seeing. The CG was pretty bad though, i found myself just wondering how the f*** stuff passed for production several times. I especially remember several scenes with Stayne as really, REALLY wonky in the animation-department.

That kinda sucks to hear about the visuals. That especially seems to be a major selling point on the movie for me and many others.

Also I don't like the fact that it sounds like the story is wayyyy to standard. With how expensive movies are now I'd rather see something more interesting than generic storylines.

I'll probably see Shutter Island instead if I have the option.

Should also be mentioned that it's not actually Alice in Wonderland, it's more Through the Looking-Glass imo. Well i suppose it's like a mix, but i think it has more to do with the later.

What's the difference between Through the Looking Glass and Alice in Wonderland?
All I've known about either is the Disney animated one, and supposedly that's a mix too.

I guess if I wanted to be all hardcore I'd go read the books but, no :)

It's not Through the Looking Glass, it just has elements of both stories in it, but so did Disney's animated version if I recall correctly. The best I can tell the story is sorta a spin-off (or sequel) to that adaptation.

It was good as long as it was completely crazy (and even that wasn't enough for my liking), which was about the first 30 minutes you get to see of Wonderland. I liked a lot of the characters, the cat was the best.

But no matter how good it could/would have been at the start, the whole fighting scenes in the end killed it for me. I mean really? Is that all they can come up with for a modern day Alice film? That's why I said it's a LotR, the main characters are fighting with swords in a setting that seems to be typical for LotR. If I knew that before I bought my ticket I'd seriously reconsider watching the film.

Yea I don't know, I'm just not going to see eye-to-eye with you on that one. The presence of a sword and armor doesn't instantly turn the film into Lord of The Rings, and I certainly don't think that a Wonderland chessboard is a setting more typical of that film either. Maybe the final act had some issues, but I was still able to enjoy the experience quite a bit. It's not Disney and Burton's best collaboration by a long shot, but I had fun.
