Up gets props for being the most down to earth Pixar film ever. Think about all the other films you mentioned.

Robot, super heroes, dragon viking, and then Finding Nemo is about talking fish. It's pretty easy to keep the viewer entertained when you suspend disbelief with the extraordinary. Up gets my respect for keeping it about an old man and a cub scout. Craziest thing in the film is that gravity seems to have been shut off.
They are animated films, what do you expect? real life boring stuff in animated for kids films?

And they can talk? And the old man gets battered around but never breaks any of his weak, feedble bones?

Still, I'd say Up is probably my favourite Pixar film (along with WALL-E and Toy Story), if nothing else then in terms of emotion at least.

You got me.

But talking dogs is not a stretch. IRAIPTOR can type.

But still, easily the most realistic protagonists in any Pixar film despite the mad scientist who made his dogs super smart and dumb at the same time.

Same. And I doubt kids these days even appreciate the muppets the way my generation does. And weren't we just having a conversation about Pixar? What makes those movies more adult?

Pretty sure to really appreciate the Muppets you have to be OLD actually

Nothing beats the humor the Muppets give you
Came back from it tonight, it's so good. Emotional watching it as well having grown up loving the Muppet Show.
The movie plays off the fact that they're really not popular anymore in today's generation.

I read an article on the movie the other day. Apparently some of the characters had to be totally rebuilt because they had not been used in over a decade.

Also funny thing about Pixar. They have a short in the beginning of the film that is an unexpected treat.

I watched Super 8 on your guys' suggestion.

eh, no. My chest had that sinking "embarassed for everyone involved" feeling the whole way.

Maybe the next movie will cleanse the palette

I've already seen that movie. It sucks.

You obviously don't even know how often I don't drink and come here; like JMadden, when you disagree with me I'm automatically drunk.
I'm kind of sick of hearing it, to be honest. Maybe you guys should look into being AA Sponsors... it would be a better use of your time.

The acting got on my nerves worse than The Goonies, and that's pretty bad.

I put the blame for that on the director, though I only like a fraction of his work so I don't know why I expected much.
In his defense, I can recall stinkier crap.
