I don't understand why DMC4 threads don't see all these complaints, the graphics really aren't better in that game. Maybe it has something to do with expectations.

I think the reason may be because the jump from ps2 to ps3 is much more dramatic than the jump from xbox to xbox 360. I dont think its an exaggeration to say that NG on the original xbox was one of the most gorgeous games ever. Like you said Itagaki has shown that he's unwilling to change the art style of his games, so these visuals arent exactly unexpected. thing is, these visuals are hardly that bad, and the game runs silky smooth at 60 fps.

That's exactly the reason. DMC is a huge jump visually from its predecesors, and to most, Ninja Gaiden 2 looks like Ninja Gaiden:HD. I actually think DMC looks pretty awesome, but I don't have a problem with the currently more sterile look of Ninja Gaiden either. I don't think that it's simply a "style choice" like so many others have implied (this applies to DOA as well), but if the game is as fantastic as it sounds I don't really care.

And 1up seems to think that it looks a lot better than we're implying anyway. I'm going to wait until I see more complete material in a much higher resolution before being too critical. Either way, it couldn't prevent me from enjoying the game if it's as fun as Ninja Gaiden was on the Xbox.

For me ninja gaiden has NEVER been abour graphics. It was all about Clever Mad 60 FPS Action Goodness and the video shows no less than that :)

Aye, that's for sure. :)

Nice video indeed, looks like the dash move is much more powerfull than the rolling move from NG1 to avoid enemys. Didn't like it at first but now I see where Itagaki's coming from...
