Cause that's basically what's happening, Itagaki made NG, NG Hurricane pack #1 and #2 ( 2 is just brilliant), NGB and NGII, and yeah don't give me that "a whole team made it" cause no he is the designer, he is the one that has to write the damn 80+ page Design Document which basically describes the game in the smallest detail.
Now what has Hayashi done? he took NGB and made it prettier ( and easier ) added some random missions with a new character and called it done. The same is happening with NGS2, tad prettier, co-op ( basically NGB mission mode with a friend), 2 more characters a new weapon and some bosses.
Anyone in Team Ninja could've done this, heck if anyone in here had Team Ninja working for them we all could've.
Itagaki made the cake without the recipe, Hayashi is just adjusting the recipe.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm liking the stuff he added, but don't praise him as if he is some godsend gamedesiger, he simply isn't.
I consider NG1/B to be great due to Matsui, Ehara, and Itagaki. Hayashi hasn't done shit but take already thought-out ideas and possibly even already working but cut content and add them on top of an established gameplay system. The statue of liberty was supposed to be a boss in NG2 anyway, but it looks like a ton of content was cut from the final game.
I wouldn't be surprised if he released Project Progressive and Code Cronus as different titles and get all the credit for it, considering these games were already in development and their game design's already established.

there you go another graphics comparrison. the difference is kinda huge...at least concerning the characters.
That carbon fiber look of the 360 version looks badass in game: http://images.gamersyde.com/gallery/public/8535/90...
By the way, reduce blood means we won't be seeing:

Each character has their own set of moves, it's not just a skin over Ryu.
Ayane and Momiji has their own unique move.
But I understand if you think it was a skin, its ok :)
In the DOA universe, I love Hayate and Ryu because they are awesome ninjas, and it would be great to see what they could come up with for Hayate. I am even sure they would add his famous Raging Kajun or whatever its called from DOA4 (his hardest move).
Anyway, extra characters through DLC for co-op would be neat.

The detail in PS3 version looks much better in my opinion, you can actually see what material is used for his clothing. The 360 one looks like a boring rubber with no detail.
About that Sonia comparison, I didn't find it either, no idea where they found it.
But I say that the right one is from NGS 2 because thats the same batch that got released when it got announced.
Besides, the image KORN posted with Ryus outfit detail, that is a hint that it is from NGS2 with more details.
Reizo, Hayashi added easier controls too unlike Itagaki...water controls anyone?
One handed backflip? stronger ninpo by using sixaxis?
Hayashi is good at improving past games...to some extend.
But now with Itagaki gone, future NGs has to be done by him, so lets see how he pulls that off.

Now, wtf at the trailer for NGS 2 at gamersyde?
I thought it was the same thing at gamespot and GT, but this is extended!
The blood seems to be as much as NGS had which I am okay with, but now seeing decapitations, where does the limbs go?
It looks like it dissapears when that mist shows up, quite sad to see this.
In NG when you chopped off a head the head actually flys off their bodies and lands on the ground, but not here, annoying.
But the mist is cool when I see it in motion, but I still gonna miss the limbs all over the place, really miss it. Ah well it will grow on me.
Lebato, I checked the time you gave me, those are the mages spamming their fireballs. Maybe the spamming is still there but more improved so they can't tag you when you are doing a UT or a Izuna Drop.
Let's see how that turns out, not much to say really.

Why is everyone nitpicking and why is it that you Sath keep defending .... There will be differences, some better, some worse...... let's just let it go.
TO RENT: MEd, VP2, BK3, NarutoBB, SC4, GAxe, Fable2
2009/10: FF13, SC5, AW, RE5, Im Alive, SH5, SO4, BG&E2, Bayonetta, Doom 4, LoShadow, SF4, Ninja B, ToV, N3-2, Afro Samurai, KUFII, Dante's Inferno, AC2

And I did say that both look good in their own ways, simple.

On the PS3 version you can actually see the material used for his outfit while on the 360 version it looks like a plain rubber with stuff attached to it.
But seriously, PS3 version looks much better.

This is purely an artistic choice. I don't like the dullness of the whole outfit on the PS3 (although it's also in part because of the lighting), but I do prefer the look of shin guards.......but not the part on the thigh. And by all means this is not any indication of which looks technically better, that really comes down to preference. You have yours, other people have theirs.
I have yet to see ANYTHING that makes the PS3 version technically superior. It looks like that first comparison was a scam by the way. If anything, the X360 might have the upper hand from what we've seen. The limbs all over the place, the blood effects, they cost, and we have yet to see that from the PS3 version. I would hope that would change, otherwise it would seem to me like they are just focusing on adding what it's on the press release and be done with it. For me that wouldn't be enough for another $60, feels like something DLC worthy (let's not forget the FREE hurricane packs back then).
And going back into the gameplay, I also think the water controls sucked. But honestly, how often do you fight in water? If it's more than 5 minutes in the whole game I'd be surprised. I don't even think it's worth mentioning.
