I enjoyed it. And we're doing unmarked spoilers in here.

General storytelling stuff:

My minor criticism has to do with the destruction of the new "Death Star" weapon in the final act. It all happens a little too quickly and it all comes together a little too easily. This is avoided in "A New Hope" by having the plan to destroy the Death Star come together off-screen, allowing for your imagination to fill in the finer details. In Episode 7, we see them gather intel and throw a plan into action in a whopping five minutes.

Nevermind how little they react to the simultaneous murder of billions and billions of people. It's just like, "oh, another big thing to blow up? Where's the shield generator?" It's just too damn simple.

Star Wars stuff:

I love all of the new characters. I think that's really where Episode 7 shines. I found the idea that Luke gave up to be a little disappointing, if not far fetched, but I'm sure we'll learn more about that 30 year gap in the next two movies.

I won't bother with fan theories regarding Rey's heritage, Snoke's backstory, or any of that stuff. They're all wrong ;)

Really enjoyed it minus couple of things.

Kylo Ren should have never taken his mask off since all that "dark" vibe with the mask goes away when he looks like a One Direction miscast boyband lol
They should have gotten someone else that could look the part even without the mask, couldnt take him seriously tbh.

Music was a huge dissapointment. I dont know what the hell John Williams was doing but the OST has zero memoriable tracks unlike the other movies, especially from Eps1 and 3 like Heroes Collide, Execute Order 66, Padme's Fate or from Eps1, Duel of the Fates.

I liked Rey ALOT but i didnt enjoy how she all of a sudden knows how to use the force and grab the lightsaber from a distance or use jedi mind trick or closes her eyes for a few seconds and then becomes all "jedi-ish" with zero training.
While Luke which is Vader's son had to go to Yodaa master at that, and train his ass off know all of that. I feel they kinda wanted to push through the whole Rey is a jedi thing so for the sequal they can focus on other stuff.
Though i did love that they introduced a female jedi now to the audience as a "main" and not as a background, just like the comic books now or even The Old Republic or KOTOR games.
I hope they give her a lightsaber staff like Satele from The Old Republic, and Rey always carries a staff so it makes sense to give her that.

Lightsaber fighting was boring to me between Kylo and Rey. Kylo's movement looked like he was swinging a big claymore with one hand while drunk even though he been using it for a long time he looked absolutely unskillfull during his movement.
Though i did enjoy the snow settings for the fight though, reminded me The Old Republic cinematic.

Outside of those, loved the movie, way better the prequals (though Eps3 had better music, better fight scenes and Obi Wan lol). But other than that, awesome movie and good new characters.
I also liked how the movie didnt have alot of bullshit weird alien species forced into it, extremely minor ones but still, nothing to the crazy cheesyness of the previous ones.
And how the movie was shot, felt more "real" interms of design of everything.

Seeing Luke all badass in the end on a cliff, hooded, revealing himself, goosebumps!
Looks like another version of Obi Wan to me lol, good stuff!

Anyways, i will try and watch it a few times for sure, so waiting for the sequal is going to be tough.

One thing i read before i posted previously was that Rey is a force-sensitive, which i have no idea what that meant until i wiki'd it.

"Among their natural gifts, Force-sensitive beings could see things just before they happened, which gave them faster reflexes than most others. With proper training, Force-sensitives could learn to consciously sense and manipulate that energy, which gave them special powers."

If Rey is one of them, then i guess one of my issues with the movie gets removed.
The thing about how fast Rey learned the force and she even had a vision as soon as she touched Luke's lightsaber in the chest.

WOOF - I couldn't disagree more on your miscast comment.
He was awesome and probably the best actor in the movie.
The difference he portrayed with the mask off was awesome.
Kylo Ren was the best part of Force Awakens and is the deepest villain they've ever had in the franchise 4 real
Without the mask on/off you wouldn't see all the vulnerability. Plus how rad is it to have someone from the dark side resisting the light? Rather than the other way around

Music I agree on. Wasn't as epic as normal and was kinda underplayed for some reason.

Rey and Kylo are both untrained even though they show some legit abilities. I think Rey being able to do those things has to happen, otherwise her ability to fend off an injured fragile Kylo Ren makes zero sense.
Both of them are going to train in the next film, I expect it'll be a primary focus in fact.
You should think of her ability to do those things so early, as a sign of how strong, skilled and talented she's projected to be

Lightsaber stuff was basic again which was great.
I don't need them flipping shit all over the place like the prequels, that shit was some of the cheesyness you are speaking on.
It also makes sense when you know they're all noobs

Yeah I agree with Tinks about the Lightsaber duels. On the prequeels all lightsaber duels look overly coreopgraph and not realistic even for super beens forces users.

Just look at this sht

That is so fuking uncesary that it looks dumb.

You also have to took into consideration that both lack training, so I'm sure their lightsaber abilities will improve much more on VIII and we will see some more skills. Though hope is nothing like that gif.

Its the look of unmasked Kylo that is off to me, dude will always strike me as a One Direction type of guy who spends like probably 30mins to fix and split his hair and then puts the helmet on to look "cool" then takes it off and then we see a boyband type of look behind that lol
Atleast Rey put a nice long big scar across his face so hopefully for the sequal, they can do something with that and maybe get a better hairstyle for him.

Interms of fighting, I wouldnt mind if they took some lessons from The Old Republic CGI which to me had the best fighting style depending on what lightsaber style they had and their overal style of combat. One being all brute, one being more agile and defensive one...etc.

Eps 3 had better fight scene except that one small shitty gif part that lasts like what 2-3 seconds throughout a few minutes of the entire fight.
Didnt they say they hired The Raid dudes for the fight or something?

Now Rey finding Luke, he will train her now so i hope they do a much better fight choreograhy than this one, or all SW movies combined.

Dont get me wrong i like that the fight was more "real" as in if they had weight behind them like real sword, but they way it was made interms of movement in some parts made it look like they just swung their lightsabers out of panic.

Again, no training from both, so hopefully that changes.

It's basically over the top in the entire movie
Watch Yoda fight with his lightsaber against Count Dooku in Episode 2 as well
Or how about the way Grevous uses them

I remember George Lucas said something about lightsaber fighting was all about some stylish way of movement, elegance or something like that years ago.
Here I just saw them trying to bash eachother as if they held on to a baseball bat and swinging crazy as they moved lol.

But again, I am not holding that much against them since none of them were trained properly on how to use melee weapons. In Kylo's case i guess him using the force and owning a lightsaber he thought he was all that, but against a real opponent and not "nobodies" he cant do shit, and Rey proved that.

So both Kylo and Rey needs to train their ass of to master the art of lightsaber weapons since they will fight again. And hopefully next time they put on a MUCH better choreograghy, make it real yet awesome. I still think The Old Republic CGI did it great.

Rey reminds me of two characters.

Bastila Shan (KOTOR)

Satele Shan (The Old Republic)

They would be stupid to not give Rey a lightsaber staff instead of a one handed lightsaber.

This was me when watching the movie

EDIT:

So its been confirm that for the next movie...

Han Solo will be back as Ford is in the cast for Episode VIII. Probably will be mostly about Ren past or stuff that happen before The Force Awakens. Also Max Von Sydow the old man who had the map on Jakku that Ren kill at the beggining of the movie also will be back.
