Deep Down is not a launch title, but yeah all this talk of less p's is very funny.
My bad.. but my point being for launch titles these games look amazing, and will get better and better with time.

Eurogamer Expo: Xbox One games on Xbox One - PS4 games on PC [except Knack]

"As well from what I played all the Xbox One games were running on a Xbox One but from what I played on PlayStation 4 only Knack was running on a PlayStation 4. And the PlayStation 4s (PCs) kept crashing and needed a reboot (Assassin’s Creed IV, Killzone I seen crash once but Need For Speed kept crashing all day)."

Sony uses PCs, because all PS4s they produced are allready preordered. The games keep crashing, because the PS4 is more powerful than any Computer ever.

I know, right. It's the equivalent of quoting a random youtube comment and then acting like it means something. I mean, jesus, i could have wrote that and i haven't even been to eurogamer expo....lol.

A few interesting Dead Rising 3 quotes from Capcom Producer: all buildings are handcraft and the Zombies are generated procedurally

"You’re looking at more custom work and less reuse. We’re not using the same textures over and over again, nor are we using the same geometry over and over again. Every building and every interior in Dead Rising 3 is handmade and handcrafted. You’ll never see the same building twice."

About the Zombies:
"I’s all procedurally generated: Hair styles, clothing, colors, textures. And the gore is too: missing jaws, missing eyes… it’s all totally dynamic. That’s a whole system that we built. We didn’t just model the zombies, we had to model the pieces and the system puts them together."

Forza looks so sterile, not much going on in the background.
It's a racetrack, not a circus.
Posted by Acert93
1a would be T10 could start by throwing out their current particle system and engineer a completely new on that doesn't make the world look sterile. 1b would be T10 needs to strip the game of the lighting engine, re-evaluate the options on the market, and implement something that looks more gritty and importantly players well with time of day as well as weather systems. And for giggles the car count should be much higher.

And that is just for starters.

For a sim.
phff, you guys are getting ridiculous. It's no secret that Forza 5 is getting rushed to launch. The same happened with FM2, it did not look amazing, in fact it looked really bad at times (that blue miata at sebring screenshot still hunts my dreams). Even then the game was freaking awesome. Like I said before, it'll still most likely be the best looking racing game at launch, and I can *guarantee* it'll be the best freaking racing game at launch. Even if it was a straight up port of FM4 with the new graphics, it would probably be better than what Driveclub will be (don't mind the fact these games are in completely different ends of the spectrum).

What higher car count do you want? Higher than what? Do you already know the number? Come on, should we also start complaining about the (also unknown) number of tracks? I also fail to see how a better particle system (which I agree does need an update) would bring the place to life. Do you want some mosquitos flying about, a fire in the distance with some ashes flying into the track, the car smoking all the time, sparks flying everywhere? Maybe this real life video needs some of that.

My point is you are trying too hard to find fault where there's none.

But anyways, I feel like all of a sudden Forza seems to be just another racing game. All of a sudden everyone forgets what the franchise does like no other racing game out there. It seems like the cool thing to do.

So basically what you’re saying is:

New particle system
Gritty look (Real life racing is not gritty)
Different times of day (which has already been shown and is already present in Forza 4)
Weather
Car count (Hasn’t even been announced)

Everything listed above has absolutely nothing to do with stuff going on in the background or making the environments look less sterile.

- qualifying
- pit-stop-system
- improved damage-system (I am not talking about the looks here. The core system has been untouched since FM1. Since T10 seem to be tyre-fetishists, imo it's time to include flat tyres. I also always missed engine overheating, or messing up single wheels, e.g. camber etc.)
- and yeah, their on-track-lighting isn't next gen, it isn't even current gen, it's last gen. Those pre-baked shadows that stand out every now and then look simply bad.

This comes from someone who has bought FM1 to FM4 all day one. I love the franchise, but it has obvious flaws, which some people love to ignore as it seems...

You know me. I think most racing games are like supermodels who continue to go under the knife. But I'll say a lot of the Forza 5 criticisms seem more like wishlisting than comparisons. Yeah, it might not look generational from Forza 4, but it's still the best looking racer.

That said, as someone who got all the racing out of their system in Forza 2/3 and TDU, the best looking racer still isn't enough to sell me on it. What does however pique my interest is how the new controller changes the way the game feels and handles.

except for NFS rivals. that game is doing so much more technically, it's crazy. open world, tons of particle effects, real time reflections, weather, time of day...aside from poly count it blows both forza and driveclub out of the water visually. but game wise, they're worlds apart.

The car models are no where near Forza 5 (or Driveclub). In fact, Forza 3/4 or GT5 has way better car models, both have much more cars on the tracks and they also run at double the framerate.

Ryse easily has better graphics in spite of resolution, fps. Although numbers are on favor of Forza5 with 1080P and 60fps. It is much easier to make car go around a circle basically or make fighting games with higher resolution, fps than first person game or TPS type of games. Both technically and artistically Ryse is far superior as long as they can make it run smoothly without tearing. So far what they have shown Forza5 graphics are disappointing.

So your're saying that 30fps is better than 60fs and that having less cars on the road is better than having more?

Well, at least we both agree that the most important part of a racing game in terms of visuals is no where near as good.

No, i'm saying NFS looks better visually/technically aside from poly count. Seriously, can you read at all?
