Update: Fable 2 - Video Interview (with gameplay footage) + 2 New concept Arts! - Main forum

So basically Fable 2 is gonna be a relationship game with combat/RPG...because that is what I am getting.

I thought one of the big features would be like online co-op with your specific main character from the main game to go online with a friend, now that would be awesome.

Well, reading it..but you get the idea in game even if you don't go in that direction..there are totally dudes that will hit on you at the bar...and you can flirt back or probably even go a bit further than that if it's your thing (not saying it is--I try to keep an open mind, that's all :P).

Oh Sath I think I read something about that. Yea the dog is like the hud, but you'll be forced to make your way around the world the same way people did back then :)

Everything in the game will be readable and have some relevance. Like you coming cross a sign saying "bowerstone just ahead" for example is how you'll make your way around. Good old fashion exploring or getting information from different people on the wherabouts of places. Or seeing a map and as opposed to it coming up like a video game you'd have to look down and read it like a proper map or something like that. Lionhead did an update about it somewhere I'd have to find it.

I literally spent a good 2 to 3 days of playing fable all dedicated to trying to get laid somehow and it just wouldn't work. The women were much too demanding in the first fable. I mean I got some cheap ring that looked expensive to try and convince her, but never got anything at all. Way too stuck up if you ask me hopefully they improve that in fable 2 =P

that's one achievement i'd never get =( in the game that is! in realy life, that's a whole other story =p

i really don't know if i should follow this game as closely as i am. people were really pissed off about what got cut in the first. Peter even said he got death threat letters because of it

Well Peter said that he is gonna shut up and won't do the same mistake again like last time, and that is good.

Unless he wants something in a game very bad and he can see it work properly in front of his eyes, then he can say it, but not like say it and in the final time when game is out it is not in it.

So if he has a idea, he can say "for example" instead of "It is gonna have".

Meanwhile, while they were deliberating and discussing outstanding issues in the boardroom (read: “bored room”) Iain Wright (Fable's lead level designer) walked me through the latest changes that are taking place in Albion, the engine and well, anything that’s related to the design of Fable 2. I know I get excited quite easily (or so people tell me) but what he showed me really made my jaw drop to the floor. Man this game is already starting to look better than anything I’ve seen in the teaser trailer. It would be like comparing apples and oranges, but Fable 2 is looking hot! And with all the time the team has left, things are only going to look even more stunning. If only I could show you all these screenshots I have ready but sadly enough I’d get the sack if I did. So you'll just have to take my word for it: this game is looking absolutely beautiful and stunning.

They appear to be giving this game a major spitshine it sounds as if it could release in 2007, but they are getting tons of extra time for this till like 2008 (probably late 2008) Also it's using havok physics. Likely upgraded to havok's new physics SDK.

One of the other things I noticed when looking at the build was the use of the height maps. We touched on this subject previously when I sat together with Charlie and talked about the world design. It’s now becoming clear to me what this adds to a game like Fable: think of water levels rising and opening new (higher positioned) locations that were inaccessible earlier. Or think a big hole in the ground that you can fall into. Its stuff like that which really gets me excited, especially when they showed me one of the (many) dungeons they’ve been working on!

The dog just might notice some of those falling hole traps. I wonder if the dog would jump in with you? He probably would.

Well he's suppose to love you no matter what. I don't think he stays mad at you. I think you can continue mistreating him, but he'll love you anyway. Thats the trick to the dog. No matter how bad you treat it, it still loves you and who knows you may start to like the idea of having it around or feel guilty for treating it so badly.

Oh wow, the dog behaviour is superb. Playing with the dog and kids at the same time will be awesome, as will allowing an evil dog to piss on the dead! :P

No minimap is great as well, especially with the way the dog scouts for you.

Fly through is early but already very impressive and seems to be a lot grander in scale than the original.
