Well I wouldn't say they are back.

They have always been strong in the handheld market, and remember the Gamecube was well recieved when that first launched also.

I actually played Circle of the Moon, but I never checked the other games out in fear that it'd just feel like more of the same. I didn't react until Dawn of Sorrow got incredible reviews and quotes like "steals the crown from Symphony of The Night" that I thought it'd be a good idea to dive back in.

The music in DoS is supposedly the best in ages too.

You're right, the GBA game is Aria of Sorrow here aswell.

Well, they're definitely not more of the same -- and I wish they were. Circle of the Moon is one of my favorite Castlevania games ever, and for what it's worth.. I think it's better than SoTN. Then again, I think all of the GBA/DS Castlevania games come close to being that good, Harmony of Dissidence being the exception. That game sorta sucked.

Circle of the Moon is the only Metroidvania game that's even remotely challenging.

All I want is Sin and Punishment to come to the VC! And that's not just because I'm treasures ultimate fan-boy.
If ever there was a game made for the Wiimote, it's this one! So get to Nintendo, and make the bloody thing wiimote compatible.

This will be highly likely we will gets this in the EU seeing as it was never released here and going by they're resent releases (Legend of the Mystical ninja) It looks very promising...

I doubt they got the Xenosaga IP either(series sucks anyway), probably just the BK IP. Didn't Monolith co-develop BK along side Tri-Cresendo? How's that going to work now I wonder?

I only liked BK, and Monolith barely had anything to do with that, pretty much just the art direction and scenario. Tri-Crecendo did everything else, game design, the programming and the music and sound elements. So yea, they have yet to prove themselves to me, and Xenosaga is a rubbish of a franchise.

Probably, still not too intrigued with that game, yet. What I've seen is interesting though, graphics are pretty good considering it's on the Wii. Still, my BK fanboyism is hurting. If they ever do make a BKIII, I hope Tri-Cresendo does it with them. Or, well... :/

Ouendan 2 looks absolutely nuts, as expected. :D

Oh and I got Dawn of Sorrow. I have to say it's really refreshing to have it set in 2036 and let you get katanas and handguns and stuff. The animation is gob smackingly great, and the music - just as they say - is easily some of the best since the original tunes.

Oh and also, good news regarding Wii availability here. Apparently they're ramping up production since demand has been consistently higher than expected. Hopefully that means walking into a store to pick one up is possible soon.

Yeah, Aria of Sorrow was a lot like that as well.. though to a certain extent so is SoTN. A lot of the modern Castlevania games are not all about the whip. The handgun is cool, but mostly a novelty item. If I remember correctly there are two versions of the handgun in the game and neither are really all that effective. Very low damage.

Good stuff though. You should probably play Aria of Sorrow at some point too.. although playing Dawn of Sorrow first may sorta ruin it for you anyway. I still haven't played Portrait of Ruin, but I from what I've heard I expect it to be another solid Castlevania experience.. maybe the best DS one yet.

I sooo need to get Ouendan 1 still.
