Well I was nearing the end as I alluded to those claims. I was all "I'd prolly say Metroid Prime is the best game..." or "Metroid Prime would be a better fit" when talking about how I didn't consider Halo 3 to be. But fair enough, I certainly did imply it strongly enough for someone to assume I'd already played it through. :)

But nope, just did earlier today, and to be fair I was about 75-80% through it when I did my write-up on Halo 3, so I had a pretty good idea of where it was heading. :)

I actually played a bunch of it (30% it said, and the game is huge) when it came out, so I already knew I loved it that far all this time, but I was rediculously wealthy then (lived at home AND had a job) so games kept coming in at a pace I couldn't really play them at. Absolutely disasterous way to play games I realised eventually of course, so now I try my best to buffer them. Many a game fell casuality to that kind of interruption though, with Prime being most notable. :/

@ Alimo; yeah, I wish we could bring out the happy bits of gaming more. All too often we seem to descend into this destructive, depressing pit of criticism and disproving other's opinions. While it's fun to discuss things, and I gladly do, there should be room for simple, pure appreciation inbetween the yelling YOU'RE WRONG! the loudest.

Depends. How true do you need it to be? :)

I mean it's MY best game ever, but there are two factors to consider;

A) I have played an awful lot of games, but I haven't played every single game out there. I haven't even played every single game similar claims have been made about, so it's be stupid of me to presume to really know what's the best game ever. In fact, it'd be sort of stupid of just about anyone.

B) I might appreciate things in games that other people don't, and vice versa. Simple really.

So "true" is awfully relative here. I would go so far as to say that you can accurately say whether a game is truly good or not, but you can't really put an objective "best ever" stamp on something. At some point beyond all that quality it gets inevitably personal.

But yeah, if "true" means whether it's the best game I have played, then yes it is true. :)

In other news, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will have a re-recording of the song Dreams Dreams from the original. I listened to it about five seconds and it reduced me to a small 4x7" girl running through tokyo with Sailor Moon tears everywhere.

Basically yeah. So it should be an easy transistion.

I've heard whispers that Space Channel 5 is sniffing around Wii-ville. I'm a huge fan of Part 2, but with EBA/Ouendan 2 around it really would have to be pretty spectacular to measure up.
