NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Ghost Squad and Zack & Wiki are coming out on the SAME DAY - feb 18th - here in europe. :(

A general WOO for them being so close now, but a general BOO for getting three games at the same time. The well recieved Geometry Wars Galaxies is also out on the same day (for a modest 18 quid), but I was never as captivated by Retro Evolved as everyone else seemed to be, I was more of a Mutant Storm..uh.. stormer.
Meh forget Geometry Wars, Stardust Hd is much more fun :D

Oh yeah definitely. It's too bad its multiplayer is a bit borked though, but for a single player it's absolutely ace. :D

That and flOw was a huge part of what I thought launched Sony's "arcade" with so much more gusto than XBLA. Now they've basically both lost so much steam (no pun) that I find them about equally uneventful. :)

Argh, big mistake in my post.. it's meant to say january 18th for all those games.

February (22nd) is Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, WOO!! :D

(I would put that in the most anticipated 2008 games thread if I had no shame.. God I'm Sonic's bitch.)

nothing really, just explore the undersea world as a scuba diver. Take pictures, identify species, and discover hidden treasures/areas. Clearly not a game for everyone, but I liked the previous game(Everblue 2) on the PS2.

As for the music, I think the music in one of those videos is from SMG. The game lets add your own custom track of music through a SD card last I remember. The game itself has a good soundtrack though I hear.

Is there a practical reason for making 2D/sprite based rpg's isometric? I'm noticing it's pretty much the norm now and I always preferred top down Secret of Mana style.

I actually prefer the isometric view to be honest, Zelda Phantom Hourglass had a top down view didnt it ?

Yeah it did... And all kinds of oldies did too... Breath of Fire, Zelda 3, Shining Force... You know, all the Final Fantasies and Phantasy Stars. I dunno when they all went isometric, or more importantly why.

Yea I prefer Isometric also and if you are viewing your characters from the side it should appear Isometric.

It seems a bit weird to me that you can see your characters side on in Secrets of Mana yet the background is birds eye view.
