I hope the framerate problems are having to do with the video though.

Hacking and Sniper Rifle Gameplay. The game seems to be pretty fun. Loved the sniper build part.
I'm totally buying that game, and most likely playing it.
Suitably mad scores! Awesome. Two weeks out for us hairy europeons though. :(

Quality is a bit poor so if anyone's got a better version please post.
I really liked UC a lot and I'm still finishing up the extra missions on that (Wesker ones are the coolest) so I've always hoped they'd tackle RE2 and CV in a sequel since they were curiously left out of UC.
It's sad that Virtua Cop, even if it were to get an update, would never be done justice. That has to be arcade cheese in a way Sega barely knows how to do anymore. While Overkill's new style suits it, I shudder to think what may happen if people get overly ambitious with a new Virtua Cop. That game needs Janet, it needs silly construction site bosses and it needs JUSTICE SHOTS!

I especially like the fact that you'll see your partner in single player as opposed to him/her "floating" along with you, and the bit about exploring unseen areas of the game with additional scenarios sounds like it takes the strongest narrative bits of UC and runs with them in a great way.
Also, it seems it's focusing mainly on RE2 which hopefully means it goes further in depth than UC did. Each "game" was pretty brief in UC with the way it had to speed through them.
Oooh I'm excited! Out by the end of the year too apparently. :D

but then i dont think this light gun approach works particularly well for the wii (which seems weird since it seems perfect for it) maybe it's the fact i dont use the wii "zapper" (or similar third party peice of plastic) all i know is that there is a whole heap more satisfaction in a game like time crisis or house of the dead (light gun version in arcade or PS2/xbox) then there is in the wii mote aiming games like umbrella chonicles or overkill. "light gun" games on the wii just dont "feel" right.
The earliy bits are so damn slow, you just kinda wander around at a rediculously slow pace and the zombies just.. moan somewhat suggestively. Shit hits the fan later on though and that's when it actually comes into its own.
It's still a kinda flawed experience because the reticule just isn't very responsive due to some framerate troubles and the fact that it was calibrated for the zapper (slight sideways motions rather than wrist motions which are wider) but I have full confidence that this is something Darkside has fixed.
Overkill and Ghost Squad both play much, much better than UC did, but I think UC claims a lot of cred just by being a very well produced experience. It still looks phenomenal in places and the extra scenarios are well slipped into unknown cracks in the overall RE story. You actually get to play Wesker right after he's risen from the dead, and that - to me - is really kinda neat.

as you said. i just dont think reticle based aiming works too well in conjunction to the relatively quick paced nature of a "lightgun" game just becasue the wiimote isnt all that responsive.
I think aiming with the Wiimote feels good in general, and I even loved the on rails shooter bits of Raving Rabbids, so naturally I didn't have a problem with Overkill at all.
UC's aiming feels great in menus, but when you get into the game and there's a slight, general dip in framerate the reticule is affected by that and that's the main culprit as far as I'm concerned. I think Darkside will have that covered though.
