The thing is all these X games are not built for it from the ground up. They are "enhanced" or with regular xbox as the reference/limiting platform. That's a little worrying when you are spending $500 on a console. I think Uncharted, Horizon and the like are the best looking games out there, and that's a on regular PS4. Nothing on PC looks that good IMO. There's more to graphics than resolution and textures. It's animations, it's details, it's everything meshed together. ND are wizards.

Anyways, I'll wait until the normal X is up for preorder or walk in the store like docLEXfisti says.
Agreed. NOTHING released on consoles is touching Horizon Zero Dawn and the last two Uncharteds. In fact, we probably won't see truly what the Xbox One X is capable of until 2019. By then they should have some games built from the ground up to take advantage of those 6 teriflops. Of course by then Sony will be teasing or possibly revealing the PS5. Just in time for the release of The Last of Us Part 2.

The problem with the xbox one x and ps4 pro is "seeing what they're capable of" is kind of a lost cause, because all of these games have to run on the XBO and PS4.

It's a technically insufficient argument. People just like the idea that their hardware will grow with them. That said.. there's no reason they can't show us "what they're capable of" right now, and with multiplatform software that has to run on an older spec. Scalability is a thing.

Also: Tomb Raider looks much better on the bonex vs. the PS4 Pro.

How can they truly show what what the console is truly capable of if the games haven't been created yet? I'm talking games built SPECIFIC for that consoles design and power, and also game developers becoming more accustomed to the inner workings of the new console. For example look at the PS3's Uncharted, and compare that to the far advanced Uncharted 3. I could go further and see a game like Horizon Zero Dawn, and compare it to previous PS4 titles. To think the Xbox One X will show what it's truly capable of straight out the gate is folly, as it is wishful thinking.

This is true in terms of 3rd party games. They're gonna built their games towards the larger units out there. Being the PS4 and the Xbox One. However what I'm talking about is in house 1st party games being built from the ground up to take advantage of the Xbox One X power and design. It takes years to develope games and master the hardware's inner workings to showcase it's power. I say about 2019.

I don't think that will be the case. If developers have (easy) accessible power at their disposal, they will use it. After all the stories, how easy it is for dev's getting their engines running on the X, I guess a lot of them will put that power to good use.

But we'll see soon anyway in roughly 2 months and a week.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that it's "easy" for devs to "port" games to the X1X when they're not actually ports.

Fun myth? Perhaps. But to master a new hardware straight out the gate? Wishful thinking at best. We'll see. So far, I'm just not seeing it with the games presented.

Today finally is the day where I will get my X. I wasn't able to buy it at launch as planned because the heating system in our house broke down (EUR 1.600,- for repairs, then 3.000,- for a new one - classic situation...). But now I have set enough money aside for it (black friday deals on XBL threw me back a little bit).

Can't wait to hit Saturn in a few hours to get hold of this sweet baby. All patches are downloaded and wait patiently on my external WD mit 3TB.

But I don't know, what to play first....hahaha. Halo 5, Gears 4, ACO, SWBF2, TF2, DR4, Dishonored 2, Wolfenstein 2, Evil Within 2 or ROTR.

Man always a great feeling when new hardware comes into the house ;)

It's literally the most played game of the year, full stop.

I'm both surprised and not surprised. Even on the PC there have been loads of issues especially in early access. 1.0 is relatively polished.. but this game had millions of concurrent players far before that polish hit. It's not really a great shooter in my opinion, but it's a great game. It's survival horror.

And I'm convinced that it will never have good network performance.

I agree, the shooting mechanics could improve, but the feeling is like no other before... pure adrenalin IMO.

3 patches so far in that short time, but they really improve it noticably. And not once did my game crash on the X so far.

And here we are nearly 7 months later, we still haven't seen any Xbox One X games that can hold a candle to Horizon Zero Dawn, or even Uncharted 4, from a graphical standpoint. It's looking more and more everything Isaid was and still is right. *shrugs*
