GSY Video PS5 Xbox Series X PC PS4 Xbox One

Back when Chernobylite left Early Access and was finally released on PC, we proposed a bunch of videos of the game. Then, we were also present for the console launch on old gen machines, but we still had to show you the current gen update. Good news, it's finally available and we've taken the time to record some gameplay footage on Playstation 5 so you can see the two graphics modes in action. Performance mode obviously favorizes framerate as the game runs at 60 frames per second but resolution is limited to 1080p. In this configuration, the graphics are however the equivalent to the ultra settings on PC from what we've been told. The other option is unsurprisingly the Resolution mode where te game targets 4K (resolution is dynamic though) but framerate doesn't go above 30 fps.
Note: The freeze you see at some point in the video is due to capture, it's not the game.

After the release of its final version on PC last summer, Chernobylite returns on old gen consoles this week. You can still play the game on PS5 or Xbox Series S|X thanks to backward compatibility but if you want to enjoy the benefit of the new hardware, you will have to wait until the developers patch it. It is planned but we have no info on a date yet. For now, the console version can only be played at 30 fps, no matter what system you play it on. We have recorded the prologue of the game on Xbox Series X but it is actually the Xbox One version.

After spending almost 2 years in early access, Chernobylite was finally released at the end of July, but because I was away we couldn't give it any coverage before now. With a bit of a delay, here are 2 videos, the first showing the different sections composing the overall experience while the second only focuses on one of the missions. Don't forget that the console port is planned for September 7, so our footage is worth checking out if you don't own a gaming PC.

Science-fiction survival horror RPG Chernobylite will launch July 28th on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) for $29.99 while the PS4 and Xbox One versions are planned for the Summer. In the title from The Farm 51, players control Igor, a former physicist of the power plant who returns to Pripyat to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his fiancee, 30 years prior.

Still available on Steam in Early Access, Chernobylite gets regularly updated and is now perfectly smooth în 1440p even with ultra settings. Let us remind you that it clearly wasn't the case a few months ago despite our RTX 2080 Ti. As shown in the following video, the game's atmosphere and visuals are clearly great, which is basically why we decided to focus on the environments themselves, included the latest one, the Red Forest. That being said, the game is far from being finished, as human AI is still completely blind when attempting a stealthy approach. It will certainly be sorted out in the weeks/months to come but if you expect to find something perfectly polished, you should probably wait before putting your money down. Until then, enjoy our video, it's really worth a look.

The promising title from TheFarm51, Chernobylite, has developed quite well in a few months since its Kickstarter campaign which has been successful. After a new trailer at Gamescom, the studio now shares 17 minutes of uncut gameplay footage that plunge us into the Nuclear Power Plant. The game features a physicist who returns to the Exclusion Zone 30 years later and face unpredictable events, whether they are natural or supernatural. The team expects to release the Early Access build on Steam this Fall.

To recreate as much as possible the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone with their Reality 51 scanning technology, The Farm 51 needs extra funding and thus the developer started a Chernobylite-survival-horror-in-3d-scanned-chernob" >Kickstarter campaign.
