GSY Video PS5

Now that the horizon is clear for me (well sort of), I have finally found the time to try the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077, which finally got it's "next-gen" patch. Not everything has been fixed, mainly because it cannot, but at least the game looks better on current gen consoles now. The devs have tried to take advantage of the DualSense, and we truly appreciate the effort, but the left trigger is unreasonably resistant when you try to brake with a vehicle. It's not a big deal, some will even find it pretty cool, but it's a bit odd nonetheless.

Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5 is now available, but so are the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions. Here is a video captured in 4K on Xbox Series X, with the Performance mode at the beginning of the video, then the Ray Tracing mode at 9min20.

CD PROJEKT RED announced today that Cyberpunk 2077 has just received its latest free update, introducing players to the next-gen Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 version of the game, and further improving the original platform releases. With Patch 1.5 — Next-Generation Update, Cyberpunk 2077 takes advantage of the additional power of the newest generation of console hardware, allowing for ray tracing features and 4K with dynamic scaling on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, faster loading times, and a variety of other visual and technical improvements. On PlayStation 5, the game will additionally utilize the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback functionalities.

Since its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has received many updates and we had not been able to show you the Stadia version. So here is a 23 minutes video captured at the beginning of the game.

Needless to say that 2021 will most certainly see some more Cyberpunk 2077 coverage on Gamersyde as more patches will be made available to improve the overall experience, much like The Witcher 3 in its days. That being said, we wanted to finish this year's coverage with a bang with no less than 5 more videos in what is actually the 22,000th news article on the website since its creation. On the menu, bits from a mission recorded on PS5 in SDR, 2 new HDR videos (one on Sony's new console and the other on Xbox Series X in quality mode) and finally a big one on PC, with different resolutions and settings, always using DLSS (most of the time in performance mode rather than auto or quality).
PC used for capture: i9 9900K, RTX 2080 Ti and 16 GB of RAM (DDR4).
Note: What we call "Optimized settings" are those given by Digital Foundry in their latest Cyberpunk video.

Our coverage of the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 will have to wait a bit more as we're not truly satisfied with the performance we get with our usual rig. Until then, here is finally some HDR footage running on Playstation 5 with no less than 13 minutes of various clips. Needless to say encoding took forever, so enjoy it now it's available!

For some reason, the Playstation 5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 does not feature 2 graphics modes like on Xbox Series X. The only possibility left is to play the game at 60 fps with a rather blurry image, which becomes more visible when the draw distance is more important. On the bright side of things, we have found the 60 fps experience smoother than on Microsoft's latest console. On Series X, we indeed witnessed a few hiccups when walking around Night City or even in some indoor locations where there were more NPCs or effects (like the bar at the end of the Corpo intro for example). Inside, you will find the introduction when played as a Corpo as well as another quick stroll around Night City, on foot and by car.

It is now the turn of the PS4 Pro version of Cyberpunk 2077 to have the place of honor on Gamersyde. As you can see, it seems to be holding up pretty well both in terms of visuals and framerate, at least in the Nomad introduction. Check out the video and let us know what you think. PS5 footage will come next and we'd also like to propose some HDR footage and of course some gameplay on PC too.

Cyberpunk 2077 may not take advantage of the new consoles (aside from the 2 graphics modes that are not available on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X), but that's not what has been the main focus over the past few days. Indeed, what many players have been talking about is how poorly the base PS4 and base Xbox One versions seem to run. We wanted to see it for ourselves so we forced our 2013 Xbox One to come out of retirement to record some gameplay footage and, well, we can't say we have been surprised by the result, though we can at least say that we have seen none of the major pop-up or texture issues shown recently...
Update: One video added showing us walking and driving around Night City during the daytime.
Update 2: Second FPS Analysis video added.

No time to lose on Gamersyde, we were finally sent our Xbox One key for Cyberpunk 2077 around noon today and here are the first 11 minutes of the adventure as a Nomad. The following video was recorded on Xbox Series X but remember the next gen patch won't be available before next year. Still we're showing you the 2 graphics modes (performance and quality) that Xbox Ones X owners must also have access to. On that subject, we're going to try to capture some Xbox Ones X footage (and possibly Xbox Ones Fat if our console still works) but it'll take time as davton hasn't been able to help me as his Internet connection has been down for 2 weeks already...
Update: One Xbox One X video added.
Update 2: Another Xbox One X video added.
Update 3: Another Xbox Series X has just been added.
